The use of "tu" extends to friends as well as lovers or family.
In any event, and at the risk of inviting more ribald comment from the peanut gallery, since 'Mez became intimate with my gear shifter at the Nats (replacing it with the RP short shifter - at no charge I might add
), I consider the use of "tu" not only justified but mandatory. Let's face it - anyone who handles your **** had better be your friend!
