i have noticed that too, but the IT industry can be a make or break, depending on experience :o

im doing a computer science course now too, hopefully that will get me some where next year and be able to afford some mods for the 8 by my self :p

Now we're getting into occupations as well??!!

Before we know it there'll be no mystery left and none of you will respect me in the morning.

Gotta say it's no mystery why the IT and science guys love the 8. You need a bloody degree just to figure out how the Bose stereo works!! I'm still finding more buttons to play with.

And as for the obsession with recalibration of the ECU and analysing every conceivable function via the scanalyser - hey, whatever turns you on right? :D :D

Just kidding.

And Kalli - don't be tempted to reveal our little secret!! :p :D :D

The 20s have control...so far

Well good response so far guys to the thread

have done a tally of ages so far and so far the majority of Rx8 owners in Australia are in their 20s.

Under 20 - 4
20s - 13
30s- 9
40s - 3
50s - 4
60s - 2

I reckon as the RX8 ages and becomes cheaper it will attract even more young people like the old 300Z, 180s, supras and Rx7s etc

But remember, as has already been stated, the majority of users of this forum/ computers would be in the younger age bracket.

i'm not going to get into the sex statistics.........thats male of female, not how many times you have had sex in your car (which would probably be quite difficult with the big centre console and limited head room)

Youngest OWNER in Australia is aged 17 but there seems to be some controversy over who that is?

Why don't you make him really, really jealous and join us on the Sydney run next Sunday!!! :D :D

And Kall - don't let this young whippersnapper spoil your ambition to be the youngest female - you're still extra special!! :D :D :D

What's that old saying??.....Necessity is the mother of invention. :D

IMHO, this kind of situation is when the electric seats really prove their worth.

I suspect many of them don't use computers from home.. Like you - I have mostly seen 35+ drivers around Brisbane, but I am also acutely aware of how few of the 35+ age group have any real computer litteracy..

I agree. Many people over a certain age believe this sort of thing (i.e. internet forums) is a waste of time.

It isn't, is it?? :D

Guys like Nojooc who sell them are best placed to give an idea of demographics. Despite the tabulation in this thread, I'm betting the majority are over 30 and there are more over 40s than under 25s.

Still, it doesn't really matter to me how old you all are or what you do, etc. We all love the car and want to trade info and the odd gag and that's enough for me.

If it weren't for this forum, I would never have found out about the Hymee grille set.. Goes to show that a lack of knowledge can cost you around $1,200... I wonder if each of those cars that is up for sale (other thread) has had an A/C condensor or oil cooler replacement???

I was being tongue in cheek xxup re: whether it was a waste of time - mainly referring to the time I cruise the forum when I should be working. :D

Absolutely no doubt that a complex car like the 8 takes some learning and I've picked up loads of useful info from the more experienced members.

I'd agree. I'm positively ancient but most of the friends who I talk computers with are way younger than I am.

I bought my first PC about 20 years ago, and have been building my own for over 10 years, but I can only think of one friend of my vintage who does the same. Whereas the 20's age group grew up with them, and many were hooked in by games and stayed for the other benefits.

Of course, some of the older guys have the excuse that they work harder than I do and don't have the time. :D

(PS I can't resist a smile at the typo of "litteracy" for "literacy" - kind of an unintentional George Bushism.. :p )
