Got my recall done today. Didn't get told if anything was changed or replaced. I know I melted some bits on the dyno at the rear end. But I doubt they would have replaced them. But it says in the recall.....
Also starter, battery and plugs. I'll post the outrageouos price for my 60k service on the other thread.
Cheers,
Hmee.

I was told they test each item first and only replace the bits that need replacing. Some customers may not need all 3 items replaced. I thought it was just a BS excuse for not having the parts there, but maybe it's true.

apparently my battery tested fine, and they had to order new spark plugs and starter motor, so i had to go back a week later

That sounds like BS to me guys.
I had all three components changed, no questions asked. I reckon some service depts are using that excuse for when they didn't have the parts in stock.
Why wouldn't you get all three if an upgrade (and not replacement) is necessary?

Just got back after picking my car up from City Mazda. Starter replaced. Leading plugs were replaced when I had the recall done a few weeks back. No battery, but I'm not too fussed.

I wonder if this still needs to be a sticky given that most if not all of us will have gone through the recall merry-go-round by now.
No offence 'Mez - just saves me the scroll down time.
