no i'm in Hawaii.... all JPAC comes through here first.

i've done my fair share of Honor Guard duty... walking caskets out of a C-17 that you know has nothing but a couple pieces of bone in it, and sending it to the lab in spite of family asking for the remains.... standard burial/cremation/flag/rifle party stuff...

If your not the kind of person who gets emotional with TV shows, its not that bad... you just have to have some composure... or at least not give a ****

I understand frusteration; but dude I would not start walking down that road.

Just simply say that you are frusterated and ask for help; one member has already agreed to work with you on the email.

How could the Cobb kill your car anyway? Just flash it back to stock and you can drive to work again; if it is another part - well; you couldn't drive it anyway even with the right flash.

I did ask for help a few times in the past. And I did ask for updates on whats going on with the AP but got (ignored) overlooked. I'll be driving it tomorrow that is if the new parts work this time. I went through 3 cars and a bike in 1 week other wise I'm usually very easy going and something like this would not bother me I'm just ready to get back in the car and would love to get back in with 25+ more hp

thats entirely possible... when this first blew up real big, there were people who got missed by accident, MM saw this happening right away and addressed it by organizing.

give him the benefit of the doubt on the past, work things right now and be happy

Bounce it off Shell Dude first to make sure.

We really are trying to help you out bro; just work with us - I know Paul and Jeff both; they are cool dudes; Paul even bought me Pizza when we were working on my car.

Most everyone here is genuinely nice; things just sometimes get fucked up.

Hater; yeah Faille is the Engine Carney - too bad he is leaving soon.

I'll gladly trade my busted knuckles for the turbo and manifold job - I got screwed.

Heck, send me any data you have too and and I'll do my best to pretty it up. It's the least I can do for one who protects us.

I'll send you a new log as soon as I get the car running. I not looking for any thanks or sympathy for being in the military but thanks for the comments it does mean a lot to know some actually care. Beside you would probably shoot me for doing what I was told to do over there . I'm a medic and was not allowed to work on joes but I did a ton of patch jobs and sent them back out if you're getting my drift

Oh I'm not helping out of sympathy. I'm helping out of pride of our military. Marine family here for many generations... I would've signed up after high school but I've got a metal plate in my arm.

Since you don't have any relevant data to send, it doesn't make much sense for us to send something up to Jeff... unless the data you already have will be consistent with what we get once the vehicle is running again. otherwise all bets are off and we should wait.

I got your PM and forwarded on additional info via email. Feel free to respond directly to the email address my messages orginate from.

Sorry MM, my datalogger isn't here yet, but I'm going to go around and re-do the calibration so I can be at least one step ahead of the game =)

Thanks

Is there a recommended data logger? I just got my AccessPORT shipped, but I'm not sure about a data logger.

I've been using EFIDude due to ease of use and "reasonable" price.

In hindsight, had I fully understood what was needed I would not have gotten a logger and instead would have employed my 16 year old teenager to be a scribe, noting Equiv Ratio values on the AP at various RPMs in various gears at full throttle .... basically like:

2nd Gear
2500 RPM = xxx AFR
3000 RPM = xxx AFR
3500 RPM = xxx AFR
4000 RPM = xxx AFR
...
5500 RPM = xxx AFR
8000 RPM = xxx AFR

3rd Gear
2500 RPM = xxx AFR
3000 RPM = xxx AFR
3500 RPM = xxx AFR
4000 RPM = xxx AFR
...
5500 RPM = xxx AFR
8000 RPM = xxx AFR

Then if I wanted to plot it, I could've just put it in a spreadsheet generated a chart.

ha! that's where my eeepc, openoffice, and multiple runs comes in to play!

I don't think this is something you can do in one run. Even with the logger, I've been making anywhere between 5 and 10 runs before I have data that I'm satisified with.... but I am a bit more **** than most.

Also, flashing a new map and going out and generating numbers is not the way to do it. It takes some time (posted previously in the thread -- about a week's worth of daily driving in various conditions) for the ECU's trims and learned parameters to fully kick in.

I just wanted to drop a quick note that I got my accessport and calibrations. The car is currently running about 12.3 afr w/ around 95% cal. load in WOT in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

The car feels fantastic and I've still got some headroom to grow in! Thanks Jeff!

hey jeff, yes I did. they probably got lost though. I sent you videos of my afr readings in all 6 gears under wot. I didn't know if it would help or not. I know for sure that 6th gear cruising at 4 1/2 grand and above I'm running anywhere between high 9's to low 11's. If the videos would help you I can re-send them. I sent them to ap@mazdamanic.com
