It looks alright. Much better than the other Veilside kit. The kit to me looks fine except for the rear. The rear is so aggressive looking to me. Oh well, it will be melted soon anyways. Haha sorry, hopefully not.

The work is exceptional. Good color matching. Veilside kit has its fans and its haters. I agree the only thing you prolly need to fix is the side skirts. Kinda looks choppy without the whole skirt converted. Otherwise, awesome job. Veil is VERY aggresive. Most guys here are subdued. Prolly cause they are all old and bald and don't like attention. Joking course.

Let the haters hate. Enjoy. Just no lambo doors!!!

I can appreciate the time and money that went into it and i applaud you. Just seems so much sleeker and more smooth the way it is stock with just a few subtle changes. But as long as you like it, its all that matters no matter what anyone says. You can certainly set yourself apart.

Wrong. Ask me. Mine was in flames after 2x20 min. track sessions with RB exhaust. I couldn't finish the track day. And that was with some high temp. ceramic coating on the lip around the tip area. I had to extinguish it with water.
After all that I cut it about 2" around the tips and painted it silver with a high temp. paint. No more burning problems and looks OK. But not the tips, they are no longer polished. I had to sand the melted plastic off them.
So in a daily driving you wont burn the lip, but you will burn the paint in a month, believe me. If you do track driving it will burn 100%.

The rear valace has melted. The body shop is going to put some kind of heat deflector between the pipes and valance, and repair it. The valace started to melt after only 45 miles, the ride home.

I emailed Veilside, and they offered me another style for 50% off msrp.

Took it to a meet Wednesday night, and got a lot of positive feedback!

From Veilside:

Hi Vicki,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience... it's unfortunate, but we cannot manufacture a urethane kit (essentially rubber) that will work with all exhaust systems on the market. It's just an easy material to melt in the heat... and there are way too many exhaust tips on the market that are large compared to what it was designed for.

I cannot offer you any help in regards to replacing your melted products. although I doubt that you would want to change the kit after finally having completed it, BUT IF YOU DO, and you want the D1-GT model instead, please call me. I will offer you 50% off the MSRP. This is the same kit that is used on one of the cars in the new Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift film. You should check out the movie on June 17th if you have the chance. We are featured in the movie quite a bit.

Best regards,

Katsu Azuma

Does the car have 2 rear spoilers? If so, why? also, pretty lame response from veilside "check out this lame movie, we are featured quite a bit" I'm sure that was all the help you wanted for your burnt products.

I thought the movie referral was a bit odd.....

The rear looks sweet, except the melting of the bumper. Unfortunately IMO the front and sides look worse than stock.

I think that the V2 kit looks obnoxious. Gratz on the V1. Love the color, looks clean. The back looks absolutley amazing!
