New clutch...

New clutch...
So in the midst of finally getting a whole new brand engine for like 100$ I was very happy with Mazda working with my warranty. But I guess my clutch is toast... Long story and many hours of stressing later cause I don't have enough money for a 800$ job for a new clutch. Talked to my mom who has a guy whose been working with cars for 16 years and who is a mechanic. He is very very sure that getting this 400$ daikin clutch will be okay. He is very serious. So I'm buying that today and just giving it to Mazda and having them install it. Did I make an okay choice? And no I'm not some racing or suping up enthusiast I just want something that is reliable and will ride smoothly.

No, for $400, you should just buy an OEM clutch from BHR:
Exedy Factory Clutch Kit, RX-8 | Black Halo Racing
Aftermarket clutches have a spotty reputation with our car, and none of them offer anything but potential headaches over OEM. OEM is cheap, fits perfectly, lasts 90k+ if you don't abuse it, and can take more torque than your engine can produce (unless you are forced induction, which i am guessing you aren't)
The $800 price the dealer was giving you is just lots of markup.

Looks like you are in Utah? (it would help if you add your location to your profile details)
Call up Charles at the site's phone number, I bet he can get it to you overnight without much problem.
Yes, it's OEM, same thing Mazda would install.

Oh, I see Daikin was Exedy's name years ago before the name change. Yeah, if it's the OEM replacement, it's fine. If it's the stage 1, go with OEM. The stage 1 has quality control issues. Many of us have had problems with it right after replacement.

Yeah that's what they told me. All they told me is that it's OEM and that they use to actually sell these for replacements or whatever. No idea if it's stage 1 or whatever. Just that its OEM. Sorry I'm learning as im going haha. So I should be good?
