So, any ideas on this from Kiwis? I am also sick of harrassing high horsepower cars on the track and then having them get away at the end of the straight at Hampton Downs or Pukekohe. The latter may be less of a problem with the new chicane I guess...
After HEAPS of searching my options seem to be:
A speed cut defencer from Japan. About $1000 landed. Crazy.
A guy in Hawera who can remove it for $150. That is great but getting to Hawera from Akl is impractical (and I have thought long and hard about just road tripping down there). Had it booked in next Friday actually but I have hurt my back and can't get down there any time soon.
A Cobb AP. The problem there is I have to use the MM map and it seems that I have to submit to his whims to get the car tuned as it comes with a base map you can't/shouldn't run the car on. That seems to mean many late night sessions on google talk, and much mucking about. I don't want HP gains, I just want to lose the limiter.
Any bright ideas? There are so many JDM cars here in NZ it is hard to believe there is no better way.

Big thanks to Brettus for removing my speed limiter this week. All very painless and I have "verified" that is is gone (cough). The semi-slicks are now back on the car and ready for a couple of track days at the end of the month.
As a side issue, the Yokos may be street legal but you wouldn't want to run round in them for long...they are incredibly noisy. Ruins the car to be honest.
