Is this a good price?
They are saying they have rebates as follows:
$4K off dealer rebate + $1K (MAC rebate) + $500 (college grad).
The say MSRP is $31700 - $5500.00 (rebate) is $26,200.00 + tax + license
Is this a good deal? It has the Grand Touring package, 6 speed, 37 miles, red/black leather.
It doesn't have: 6 CD, rear spoiler, rotary package.
Can I do better than this? Of course they jack up the MSRP price so they can make the money.
Also, is the extended warranty really needed?
TIA,
Carlos

05 i would say its good if you are close to invoice
04 I saw a black one with leather, GT package, NAV, appearance, 6 disc and spoiler with 27 miles for 26200+TTL
From the looks of the incentives, it is a 2004. Who knows about the warranty? The most anyone I've seen active on the boards had 55k miles, but he flooded it shortly after warranty expired. I think that is an exception to the rule though. He put a ton of miles on it in one year. Most of us are still in our warranty period and have no way to know for sure.
That is one low mileage 2004 8 with a sought after color combo interior. I'd try to get it in the $25750 range, but that already is a steal as most of us paid over $28k+ easy.

Thanks for the replies...
It's a 2005. I will push to get it in the 25.5K (of course this doesn't include tax + license).
What I have heard is that they try to "push you" through getting the extended warranty $2K + paint color warranty + etc...
So at the end they don't lose that much money.
So back to me 2nd question. Is the extended warranty worth the extra $2K?
So a 25.5K ... will that be good deal?
TIA,
Carlos

I bought the 5yr / 100,000 mile warranty for $2000. Maybe that was a tad bit too much but with a first year model I figured it's a good idea.
So far I didn't need it, well, one flood @ 22,000 miles. I'm ~ 23,000 now.
You probably can find such an extended warranty elsewhere cheaper.

P.S.:
seems that there are some scams on extended warranties. Better read what's covered. I just found this one:

Well look at it this way...I paid that amount for my sports package titanium gray back in August of 2004...so IMHO it's a good deal...if you like leather and a sunroof...
On the contrary, I think that's a great deal for a 2005. I didn't know they had $4k rebates on 05s especially when they still have some 04s left.

I think I'll push to get it at 25.5K.
I MUST have a sunroof. I have a Miata now and the RX8 I test drove didn't have a sunroof so I knew right there that this was not an option for me. It was a MUST. :)
I don't think I'll get the warranty. Who has the highest mileage RX8 here? :) Did they need anything beyond the 50K mile warranty?
Thanks,
Carlos

I dont see any rebates on 2005's
except for the MAC rebates on leases
Where are you located?
