My guess is that it's a 10 cent resistor in a fancy package. Just like most of the low dollar "performance chips".

Just a generic, one-size-fits-all, supposed performance upgrade. No idea how well they work, but I sure wouldn't buy one. Better to get CanZoomer's ECU fuel controller piggyback device, which was designed specifically for, and on, the RX-8.

They trot out the term "stoichiometric" to impress us and then misspell it. bah.

If you want a real power upgrade, then try one of THESE (http://www.mazdamaniac.com/ebayfake.htm)

Same old crap. This one actually tells you how it's supposed to work and what it does. If you actually read the info, then you should very quickly figure out that it will be completely useless on an RX-8.

It's a resistor to fool the signal from the sensor indicating the engine is warmed up. As it says, it makes your engine run richer, faking a cold start. Now who has an RX-8 that's running too lean right now? That's right, nobody - all of them run too rich already. Therefore, making the mixture even richer will cause a LOSS of power, as well as giving worse mileage. Not a great plan...
