I got my Mazmart water pump in today, just wondering if I actually need a torque wrench for this?

if you are mechanical and used to doing this kind of thing then no . If you are a first timer - it's not a bad idea to get a feel for it .....

Yeah Ive always done headers, brakes, turbo installs, etc without a torque wrench and never had an issue.

Just wondering if it would make a difference and what that masses think.

There is also a torque sequence that should be followed to prevent warping and allow proper seating of the gasket.

it goes something like this : torque stuff up in gradual steps - not in one hit :)

If you don't have one it seems like a worthwhile investment. Especially with the work you've done. You can get a decent one from Sears for $50. In my opinion it's worth the piece of mind. Especially if you are torquing stuff into the engine block where if you twist of a nut head you are SOL.
