Cabin Air Filter

Does anyone know where to get the Aldehyde Cabin Air Filter in Canada? Any idea how much it costs?

Or alternatively, is there a non-Mazda source for the stock cabin air filter?

Thanks

Go to your local dealership. It cost me about 80 bones for the Aldehyde filter. I can definitely see (and smell) the difference in air quality especially when in rush hour traffic. With the stock, I remember being able to smell the exhaust fumes ... NOT with the aldehyde!

As for a non-Mazda source, I guess you can fabricate your own if you are handy. You would need to go to Rona or Home Depot to pick up a furnace filter (I can't remember the exact filtration spec) and cut it up to fit the stock filter. Check the DIY section for the exact instructions. It's definitely cheaper to DIY. I may do that with my spare stock filter.

^^ Wow, even in USD, those prices are great compared to what the "stealership" charges!

Warpfactor, I found the link for the DIY Cabin Filter, look at post 19 by OmegaBob

get a vacuum cleaner and suck through it from the dirty side - they will last years without needing to change .

We're not looking for just a replacement stock filter. Aldehyde filters are roughly 100 times as efficient as charcoal at eliminating oder. Clean your filter all you want..... it's still not aldehyde

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the stealership is my only option if I wanted to buy one in Canada. The ones at ocmazdaspeed and mzparts look cheap, but after considering the cost of the UPS customs fees, it'll turn out to be more than the stealer cost.
