Hi RX8 Owners
Just found a PARTS FLASH issued by Mazda NA telling dealers not to sell the current Shock Sensor Kit because they it is being revised. The advisory was sent out September 30th, 2003.
Here is the link to the advisory!

Maybe they realized that turning down the sensitivity so far that the lights don't flash when you shut the door was making the unit ineffective. I hope they plan on giving me a replacement. Oh yeah, and they better do the install for free for my trouble.

Yeah, that sensor deally is a piece of junk!
When I slam the door it goes berserk! and if I turn it down it is useless...

What I hate most about the shock sensor is that it's ALWAYS on. At least if it only turned on when the doors lock, it would be more useful. Today, while doing one last Zaino session before winter, I had the windows down and the stereo cranked. Now, I planned ahead, and reached in turned the sesitivity ALL the way down. The damn lights still flickered with the bass. POS sensor kit.

Thanks Gaels22 !!! I just printed this info to take to the dealer at my oil change coming up soon.
I too have had to turn down the sensitivity knob or face the lights/clicking noise when you drive, or close a door. Really a PITA product. I to hope they will retrofit the new one for us at no charge. I ordered it w/ the car, for I thought $60.00 for this seemed like a good idea. It is what makes this forum so good. This type of info. sharing is great.. THANKS :D
