CA Stock cat

I had a muffler shop make me a custom midpipe, he had to chop off the flanges and the hanger off stock. He said the cat was still good, no blockage according to the mechanic. I'll have pictures up as I get home. Get me a frappacino from Starbucks and it's yours, local pick up only in san diego

btw, not to jack thread but what kind of high flow cat are you using? I'm thinking of also doing a custom setup.
i'd appreciate it if you would post make, model number, etc of the high flow cat.
thanks.

The cat is a car sound magnaflow cat, its was about a 3rd of the size of stock cat. Not too sure on the model number i'd have to look at it and check, but obviously it was OBDII legal since the installer was able to order it in CA and delivered within the hour. The car definitely sounds meaner without the resonator and pulls more, i feel like i'm holding the car back when at lower rpms. And no CEL, bad thing is i can smell more fumes, maybe i put too much premix this tank or it still needs to be burned in. I happen to change my oil that day too, to 20w-50 full synthetic oil (let the bashing begin). Time will tell, but from the installers words, "There is no such thing as high flow cats. Your wasting your money but i'll do what you pay me to do. If there was such a thing as high flow cat, it would be small, alittle bit bigger than the actual pipe." and thats what i had put on.

I might interested in driving to SD in the next couple of days to pick it up from you. But could you clarify a couple of things?

First, our OEM catalytic converter is connected to the midpipe so it's one long piece? I've been a little confused about this. Second, if I were to buy a brand new OEM catalytic converter, I'd be buying the entire midpipe with cat? In other words, the cat and midpipe are one piece and can not be separated unless cut apart? Third, if the muffler shop cut off the flanges and hanger, how am I supposed to use the catalytic converter you're giving away?

umm just have him re-weld a set of flanges that fit our car. Muffler shop at that time didnt' have a set that matched our car stop exhaust system but he said he could have easily gotten them on monday, but i couldn't wait . chop chop get my pipe made

i'm not quite sure how much it cost to ship, XD and its abit of a hassle and i want my carmel frapaccino. but i do want to help you so you can get to Seven stock, this cat passed smog back in feb 10'. The car has only driven 2k since then, and the welder said it was still good just need to get flanges re-welded. Hence why i'm pretty much giving it away. i'll look into shipping costs and see if i have any boxes to put it in, this thing is pretty heavy but i'll let you know.
