Who's going to the LA Auto Show 2009 (12/4-12/13)
So who's going to the Los Angeles Auto Show this December? http://www.laautoshow.com/
I haven't been since the early 90's when it was just a large new car showroom. Times have certainly changed. I'm looking forward to seeing the US debuts of a few vehicles like the Mazda2 and Fiesta.
I'll probably hit the show towards the end after the new cars debut.
Any suggestions on admission discounts this year? There is the $4 opening day and $2 any other day discounts on the site. http://www.laautoshow.com/DiscountCoupon.html

I just got back, managed to knock it out in four hours this year. Very disappointed in the 2010-2011 cars, lots of econboxes.
Finally got to check out the Lotus Evora. No leg room, the pedal box and steering wheel are way offset to the right, not even space for a dead pedal. The combination of the massive door sill, and low roof make entry/exit interesting. The token backseat is worse than a 911s, I doubt my four year old would fit. But the car looks awesome.
Other than that, its hard to get excited about sub 1.5li toasters, and a more expensive Boxster with only 10 more HP and no top.
A few manufacturers are sitting this year out, and about 1/3 of the basement, with all the tuner stuff, is walled off and empty.

damn Ulluse, I was hoping that wouldn't be the case.
The tuner section has never been all that appealing to me but havint that much of it walled off is definitely a sign of the times...
LOTS of econoboxes; oh GREAT!
Anything new from Mazda?
Is it true that Bimmer is sitting this one out?

BMW/MINI is there. BMW has a ridiculous concept car (and not the good kind of ridiculous, the wtf were you thinking wasting money on that kind).
Honda has another concept that belongs in the dumpster next to the BMW.
Looks to fill the gap between the Fit and a kids pedal car, undoubtedly because the Fit was not small enough. The LFA is cool... If you can get over speeding $$$$$$ on a Toyota.
I got there just in time for the Mazda 2 press conference. Only other item of interest is the Mazda 3 SCCA World Challenge Touring Car.

Even I wasted $10 on the show this year. Knocked it out in 2hrs on Monday, yeup, in the rain.
Nice seats in the R3 RX-8 though, anyone got a set for sale? HAHA
No Infiniti, empty and not crowed with folks lining up to sit in cars.
Audi: The white theme is getting old.
E550 Coupe - oooo yeah!
Not too much to write home about...

I'm headed down to LA this week to check it out and catch up with friends. Wow - no Infiniti or Nissan. Was hoping to see the new M and updated G. Surprised since their US HQ is in SoCal.
Too bad it seems very subdued this year.

Duh, I do remember that. My friend mentioned that they had moved last night. He said if a company wants to find out who is dedicated - move the company. I'm sure Nissan found out the dedicated folks fast when they chose Tennessee.
I was there yesterday morning.
Nice to see Mazda wasn't hiding in the corner of the West Hall this year, they had prime real estate.
Audi: stop with the white car theme!
BMW: your concept is hideous, ESPECIALLY the rear
Suzuki: wtf is with the Ricky Ricer car?
Nissan: uhh.... yeah.
Mazda: nice lookin' display, would have been nice to see a race car but it's okay because your neighbors Acura had one.
Ford: holy ginormous display! The Taurus SHO is actually quite nice, feels like it sits up pretty high but I'm impressed with the interior which is something I haven't said about Ford since about...umm...never.

Did you try to wedge yourself in the rear seat of the ugly Acura ZDX? Passengers need sign injury waiver for that car. Honda Crosstour was ugly too.
