Where's the best dealer to go for service in SoCal?
Hi all... so this is my first post to the RX8 club. I just got my 8 last month and to say I'm less than impressed with the dealer (Culver City Mazda) is an understatement. I'm looking to get the "M" ECU flash, the air bag recall and the A/C work per the TSB's and I really don't want to take my car back there for any type of service. Do any of you have suggestions for dealers in SoCal that have rock solid service depts?
thanks...
thanks...

West Covina Mazda, On the 1O East, LA County. Great service department that is open Saturday (which sold me on the place even before I bought!!).
I second on Galpin, even though I can't go there as often as I can... Live at OC/LA county border. But Galpin is really good with the service, and will try their best to fix anything you have a question with. M-Flash etc.. no hassle.
Does anyone have any updated recommendations? I suddenly discovered Santa Monica Mazda is gone, Star Mazda hasn't even bothered to call me back when I've tried to schedule service, I've heard Galpin is pretty terrible, and Alhambra is also pretty far away.
This is extremely aggravating...

I want to bring my car in for the latest recall work. Alhambra Mazda is closest to my house, but their service department is very small. Last time I went there, there was only one mechanic on duty. I'm thinking about bringing my car to Browining or Long Beach Mazda for the recall service. Anyone has positive or negative experience with the service at these two dealers??? Thanks...

I think I'll try out Long Beach Mazda too since it's the only one I haven't read too many complaints about -- too bad it's so f-ing out of my way!!

Try Star Mazda in West Covina - off the I 10. I had a failure of the metering part of the oil pump and Bill the service-writer got me a free replacement (including labor) from Mazda despite the fact I am close to 75K miles! Saved ne $1100+!
Go to http://www.socalrx8.com for Long Beach Mazda info. I go to them all the time and they are great!
Star never called back, Browning never calls back (and the one time I finally did get an appointment, I arrived on time and they said that my car would still have to wait a couple of hours behind all of the drive up customers ahead of me). When I calmly highlighted how that makes getting an appointment 100% pointless, he gave me a card for a free oil change...still, it's so freaking aggravating and I wasted two hours of my life going out there and back for nothing (had to go to work). It's been two or three months and I still haven't managed to get my car serviced.
Why did Santa Monica Mazda have to close down...at least they honored their appointments and though I never had more extensive work done, if their service department did end up sucking, at least they were nearby. When going from MINI to a Mazda, I expected the level/quality of service to drop, but not THIS much and not for basic things like just getting an appointment. I'm still amazed that it's this f'ing hard just to get an appointment now. Mazda's dealership/service facilities really have not kept pace with their recent popularity.
