Vehicle Buy Back Notification
So, I got another letter from MNAO regarding another RX8 buy back from my production year: 2003 (pre order list). Did anyone else get theirs? Mazda is offering a trade for my RX8 for a new 2006/07.
The letter dances around any major issue stating its a financial and marketing test pricing event. Here's an excerpt:
"Oak Tree Mazda in San Jose, California bas been designated as a site to cnduct a special market test pricing and financing event. Your status as a Mazda Owner qualifies you for this private sale.
A large portion of our customers are pre-owned buyers, and we are in deperate need to acquire several pre-owned vehicles by August 31, 2006 in order to fulfill special vehicle requests. You have been identified as an owner of one of these vehicles and our new car managers have been authorized to buy back your current vehicle at above market prices.
We would like you to exchange your: 2004 Mazda RX8
for any new 2006 or 2007 Mazda. With manufacturer incentives and high trade-in value, we feel confident that you can make this exchange with little or no money down with a monthly payment that fits your budget."
What do you guys think of this letter. The letter was sent on behalf of Oak Tree Mazda by Mazda Program Headquaters in New Port Beach, CA.
I'm probably not qualified anymore due to upgrades but was curious what this is all about?

Sounds like they are trying to sell you a new car. I got one of these from Magnussen last year.
They buy your car back at blue book value and sell you a new car. They make money and then some on the financing.

I wonder if they are going to send that to a bunch of 04 owners. I read another owner got the same thing. Did the letter say anything about giving you cash for the car? I love my car, but if they gave me cash I'd probably let them have it.
