Alright guys, with the dyno day only 30 days out, I think it's time all of you start thinking about prepping your cars for the event.
For anyone who has never dyno'd their RX-8, keep in mind that a dyno run can be a very mechanically stressful event so you want to make sure your car is running in top shape.
A few service tips that can ensure you have a successful dyno run:
- Check your coils
- Check / change your plugs
- Clean MAF
- Change your Oil
- Clean Air Filter
- Check your CAT.
Also, for guys getting tuning done that weekend, here's some advice that Mazdamaniac recently posted on his blog:

The SoCal dyno day will soon be upon us, so I feel compelled to remind people that no amount of tuning will correct a mechanical deficiency. You can sometimes mask a hardware problem with tuning, but it will usually rear its ugly head at the most inopportune time and in the most catastrophic way.
So, if you are gonna spin the rollers on the 27th or 28th of March, get your ducks in line so that I don’t have to deliver bad news and shake my head ruefully. Nothing sucks more at one of these events than to be told that you just wasted $100+ because you forgot to check your CAT or coils.
