Tustin Mazda RX8 Event

I was at Tustin Mazda on Friday 10/17 getting my strakes put on (ordered 8/26 just got them, still no spoiler) and the salesman mentioned that they were having a "RX8 Rollout" event on Monday 10/20. He said that there would be Mazda Tech reps there as well as free food and the Monday Night football game on a big screen TV. They are going to have a drawing for the big screen TV after the game. Supposed to start about 6 PM, if you don't have anything else going you might want to stop by.

While I had my 8 in for the strakes I asked them about:

1) A/C cycling problem - was told that the AC tends to cycle a lot because it contains less that a pound of R134a. Didn't really expect an answer here, just wanted to get on record in case a fix comes out.

2) Poor milage - I was told that milage will very due to temp, driving style etc. (well DUH). Again just getting on record with the issue.

3) Oil Pan change out for Oil Light issue - the service manager knew exactly what I was talking about and put one on order for me

4) ECU Reflash for CEL issue - Again service manager knew what I was talking about and had the PCM reflashed. I now have a underhood sticker with "Authorized Modification PCM reflash number N3-H6-18881-J". I'm hoping they snuck a fuel map reflash for the milage/power issue in there, I know it's a long shot.

So far I've been happy with the service I have gotten there, both when I bought my 8 and on this service visit. I was a bit irked about not having a spolier yet. I talked to the parts manager and he said that Mazda keeps canceling his orders (He had ordered over 10K in various accessories for the 8 to keep on hand at the dealer) because they are out of stock, he is keeping on top of it now and will get me one soon as they are available.

I also had a look around the lot while I was there and counted 22 RX8's on the lot (most had spoliers) in every color but green (salesman said green was discontinued due to paint problems) if you are in the market to buy one I would recomend going to Tustin.

The spoiler availability seems to be wide spread. Ive been waiting for mine since mid August. I did call around to check availabilty and was told that they are available, though not in stock but deliverable from warehouses in 2-3 days! Hmmm....
sounds like either the parts departments dont have a clue or us that have cut a deal are not a priority.
