i went to Dennys lastnight......ate and blah blah blah, i got in my car after 30 mins, drove for a bit, and noticed my tire presure monitor light was on, so i got out of my car and checked all the tires, and noticed my front left was out! kinda lame, i only had the car for 1 month!!!!!!!!! i called up mazda and they didnt do sh*t for me! i called up some tire shops and asked for the same tire, and they said "its in back order" i guess everyone wants these SP sports 8090M, the only place that had it available was Tire Rack.com , they actualy have ****some in stock*** freakin tires are $234!! a piece!!! =( stupid tire monitoring sensor, stupid run flat!! making the tire more costly, by the way i re-inflated the tires, ther running good, that tire crap that comes with our cars work! but i cant drive over 50MPh which is killing me!!!!

 

Do you see a nail in the tire? If so, you can have it repaired for $15-20. I didn't know these are run flat tires, which make sense since a spare isn't standard.

 

no i think its a side wall damage. i dont think u can repair that....

 

these tires are not run flats. too bad about your tires. i got mine fixed for 15bucks for a nail in the tire. never had any trouble after that. i hope you didn't use the fix it goo to fix your tire - that ruins the tire and you have to get a new one.

 

Guess I don't get what you expected the dealer to do for you? My impression is that this was road hazard damage, meaning you ran over something in the street that hurt the tire. So, uh...

Before you pumped the tire full of goo, did you locate the puncture?

 

And the tire pressure sensor isnt part of the tire, so that doesnt make it expensive.

 

i wonder how much more damage you would have caused to the rim/tire if the dash light did not come on. mazda roadside assitance didnt help at all? no tow offer or anything? shouldnt mazda at least offered to tow it somewhere, or if you had a spare would they change it for you? i though roadside assuistance was like AAA

 

Don't most new cars come with a tire warranty from the tire manufacturer for the first few months? I know my VW Golf did, didn't check out the tire warranty for the 8 yet.

 

i guess not, i went to mazda today, and told them to check out my tire, they said it was ok, and yes i did put the fix a flat. the lady said the tires good, if it leaks and what not i told her she better get me a new one since she said it was ok, she was like "if it leaks just bring it over and ill see if i can get you a new one" so the tires ruined i know, but can i still drive with it? i mean its good as new, i just dont want it to pop sudenly.........and it is run flat, goodyear told me so. i called =)

I tried to opt for the run flat tires but the tire sensors got in the way and i was told that i could not install runflats on these rims. would have been nice seeing i have no spare...
i guess i'll go by my tire shop and see if i can get those goodyear runflats..

 

One of my Dunlop 8090's blew out with less tha 400 miles on them. The whole side wall was shredded. My girl friend was driving and never saw a light from the TPS until after the tire blew.
It ended up getting three bent rims. The car sat in Yuma AZ. for a week waiting for chromed rims and two new tires from the tire rack.

 

How did you get Goodyears on your car? I thought the Rx8 came with either Dunlops or Bridgestones stock, mine came with Bridgestones.

As for YLLO8, sucks that happened but only a woman would miss something like that. When I was test driving my car, first thing I noticed were the tire pressure sensors being on.

 

well dunlop is goodyear =) stupid tire sales man told me that expecting me to know, i should have ask him what a rotary is lol, see the look on his face =)
