I've never been to a Mazda RX8 track day. Could somebody be so kind as to fill me in on what it entails, what it costs, and who can go? I've been to Willow Springs to film our Speed Channel Test Drive episodes, but I haven't actually raced there. I've had my RX8 for 2 years now, and I'd love to get her on the track.
Thanks! Oh, I live in LA too!

it is an open track day so anyone can sign up. you get (5) 20 or 25 minute sessions on the track. streets of willow usually costs $150 and $20 for helmet rental if needed. wait a week or so to sign up and we will give you a code to get free timing.

Anyone had any problems being pulled out of the dirt/gravel/kitty litter with the stock tow hook?

They just paved they track again. does this mean we are going to have 1/8" stones flying around like last year when they paved the end of the straight?

just wondering--anybody run the stock bridgestones re050's in summer track days?? how are they vs overheating? i was planning on running them first as a baseline (first track day with the rx8 for me) but i don't know if i should just jump the gun and buy myself a new set of wheels and tires.
