i dunno why... but today's a new record for me... i saw like 5 8's today =O...

most notably... a red 8 at Great America today and a TiGrey on 84 east bound around 5-6ish...

i was in my SS 8 btw

 

I see Rx-8s a lot nowadays, especially around i-85 and i-280. Most of them are the types that don't have any body package, no spoilers, no splash guards, not appearance parts. I have yet to see another Green 8 on the street that is not Dosdog's.

 

I spotted a Black RX-8 going south on the 87 near the 280 interchange. Had one of those lip-spoliers and nice black rims (don't know the brand though). Still had dealer plates from Menlo Mazda, and it was debadged as well. We were in traffic and the guy had his windows open, I tried to say hi but he was busy shaving.

I was in a TiGray RX-8. It was about... 5PM yesterday.

 

I see a WB with a big wing always parked on Potrero Ave in The City. Yesterday I saw a VR parked across down the street from a body shop on Potrero Ave... I was riding my bike at the time

got my 8 at menlo mazda as well, haha, but not mee.

I've noticed, a lot of 8 owners don't every say hi to me, maybe its jsut me or something but i try to say hi to fellow 8 owners and none of them care, like they're too good to say hi. Whatever... i know its not any of you guys, guess they don't care. Whatever, i'm just venting now..

 

Its not just you. Most 8 owners on the road that I see will act like you aren't there. If I see any generation 7, they will acknowledge me.

 

I remember the first time I said hi to a fellow owner. It was at Oakridge Mall in San Jose and he was driving a black RX. The guy looked hispanic, but I could be way off. Such a good feeling afterwards.

 

yeah, the seven's aknowledge me, but most 8's don't, i wonder why... most 8 owners i guess are unaware of the rotary community, they just want the car and thats it... i bet those 8 owners don't even know what a rx7 is and if they do, they think there 8 is better (straight line perfomance wise) than the 7. ive met a few people like that..

anyways, enough venting, my friends saw a winning blue 8 at union landing today, anyone want to claim this? I'm sure it was the only winning blue 8 there.

 

haha get use to it. Once in a while you get a wave back, but usually I get a lot of thumbs up and honks from the 7 owners, which is pretty coo.

 

seriously, 7 owners are cool, they'll give thumbs up when you have a tuned 8, i think thats what seperates the people that just buy the car and the people who appreciate the rotary. just my 2 little cents

 

i think we need to put up a RX-8 Club badge somewhere to let them know who we are... cuz when i come up to an 8... i only look over once and see the guy/gal focused on the road so i turn back to the road... nothing special... kinda disapointed sometimes =O

 

i feel you chai, oh well, i'll still keep looking at other 8 owners, hoping that they look back at me and i could say whats up, kinda sad but i take pride of people that own rotaries!

Saw a sunlight silver mazda rx8 with the appearence package down alvarado niles blvd going toward the freeway's direction. the rx8 had an exhaust, not sure which one.

 

Saw a Blue 8 on 880N around Hayward today. Had MS B pillars, and spoiler, and an unpainted Veilside front lip. Looked like an Asian dude driving, but I couldn't tell for sure. I was in my beater white Chevy Malibu.

 

thats not really a beater car, that Chevy Malibu is pretty nice IMO.

 

Compared to the 8, its my beater. Bad thing is that it has been more reliable as of late. Going back to stock should help though.

 

saw a black 8, with re ameniya style GT wing, and full replica mazdaspeed kit stock wheels and stock exhaust on hillsdale this morning at 11am. Was in my red gs-r.

 

Saw a blue 8 down alvarado niles with rims. Asian guy, could be filipino. the rims are chrome, i doubt its lowered and its stock with the appearence package.

Also, saw a titanium 8 down alvarado niles today as well. I believe only the appearence package. I dont know the time.

 

i dunno... there's been a lot of 8's lately... i've seen quite a few new ones!

 

driving back from san jose, i was side by side next to a yellow rx8 with i beleive the appearence package. Also had clear corners, driver looked asian and never turned his f'n head. haha, trying to ignore me in my blue 8. Meanie!

 

A few weeks ago I saw a TiGray with a carbon fiber X-men wing... guy looked latino.
