Service is even harder.
The first thing you need to consider about starting your own business is what your niche is going to be.
What special thing are you going to focus on or learn to become better than the rest. What will make customers come to you.
Once you discover your niche you need to do research into the competition in your general area (30 miles or so). See what they do and figure out how they operate.
Then you need to design a business model incorporating how you operate how they operate and what you will do differently to drive business up and costs down.
And after you do all that you need to figure out how to get a good reliable customer base started up.
Your biggest challenge will be your competition. I know on my street in a 30 block span I have at least 5 repair shops.
That's why finding your niche and giving people a reason to come to you versus anyone else will be imperative to the success of your business.
I've designed several business models over the years and have implemented them in companies. Its a pain in the ***. because after all your hard work you still need to win customer loyalty and that requires some bomb *** marketing.
Your saving grace with automotive work is to do the best job you can do, have the work ethic of our forefathers, and do it with a smile. Charge fair rates not cheap rates, fair ones. People think lowering the cost will sell more product, wrong. Keeping the cost as is and producing the same quality product will win over time.

yeah shady i know key is beeing fair, knowing how to communicate with the customer, im not gonna start a business straight like that, im starting at a dealership and get experience n work my way up
