rx-8 gonna have a club in so-cal? or perhaps join up with some existing rx-7 clubs?

 

Well, I am pretty sure you would be the star of the event if you showed up to a SoCal7s event with an RX-8 right now. SoCal7s has members with all kinds of rotary cars, so RX-8s would surely be welcome.

The Southern California RX Club

The move was prompted not only by the large interest by club membership in purchasing the 8 but, by a lot of us also owning pre-RX-7, RX vehicles. You will soon see a new logo and website updates to reflect this. We have always welcomed all RX cars but, we want to reflect this openess with our new look/feel and and welcome all new RX-8 owners to the group...

So what do we do about SevenStock, the premier Rotary gathering in the world? Well for know, the name will stay, but you might see a name change in the future.

:D GJ Bern! The SoCal7's welcoming the "8" into the fold is AWESOME!! Taking bets on who's getting the first one, LC or Adee. Then again, Berny is the Wild Card.:D

 

I think Mr. Jero Romero will be our 1st member to have one in his hands... he has a 1st run pre-order in at West Covina..


BTW, for all of you new RX owners out there, the club would like to get your input on the types of activities and things you guys would like to see from the club. Please let us know.

I'd like to chime in here if I may, to expand on what Berny is saying...

No need for RX-8 clubs. Im sure most local RX-7 clubs will be including the future Rotary cars into their program. BUT to make it really work, a name change would be required (as SoCal7s have done). We underwent this change too. Back in Jun 1, 2001 when I took over the presidents position, the RX-7 Club of Florida became the Mazda Rotary Car Club of Florica (MRCCFL). There was a little resistance. The RX-8, then, was only a rumor, but as I saw it, if it didnt fly at least we are making our old school rotary brothers feel loved

I'd love to get into an RX-8 but I'm about 2 years away from a new car. Just a few words sums this up... 3rd gen and my project Turbo II.

I just have a quick question about the SoCal7s club do you guys have any other meets other than the monthly meet? Just curious. Im sure you will be seening a lot of me and my better half around here from now on and on the streets also.

Hello Hello everyone! I'm RX8Master's better half (or is he mine? I forget). Just wanted to say HI to everyone on the boards and that we are very excited to get our RX8!

 

Goddess/Master, when is your 8 supposed to arrive at dealer?

 

actually, ours is coming direct from MazdaSpeed, so no dealer. It should arrive at the end of this month.

 

Direct from MazdaSpeed?? hmmm. Interesting.. I know the MS body kit is available but not the MS 8. A MazdaSpeed RX-8 and no dealer contact.. you must be well connected

 

All I can say is we have relly cool friends! :D Couldnt do what were gonna do without them!
