Yep... You could always tell him to pound sand and just run up there on your own with the tires you have.

Check them before you pay. Most places wont let you return a wheel that has had a tire on it.

I'll call them to make sure of what size they have for me. They did call me earlier last week to tell me my 17x7's were in

I probably wouldn't go bigger than 245 on the stock rim. Most go with a 245/40 size when they upgrade the tires.

The Falken Azenis RT-615 is one of the best street tires for autox at the moment, but a little pricier than other options. You coming out Saturday night?

Yes, that would be a good tire to start out with, any bigger and you really aren't increasing the actual tread patch....just stuffing more on the skinny stock rim.

Would be awsome to see you come out for the night autocross.

If your interested, I just received my bigger rims and tires, so I will be selling my stock wheels with the R-compound tires on them.

Paul, we need to go to that Thai restaraunt for lunch. If your available tomorrow, give me a call or pm me.

snowfl8k will be going, she co-drives with me. Speeddemon and his fiance are getting married today and will miss the event tomorrow...even though I tried and tried to convince him that it was his duty to attend this once a year night event...I guess my powers of persuasion are not good.

BSP runs first, so we may not get the true "night" affect, but it does mean that we will get out of their earlier...

I'm picking up my wheels/tires tomorrow morning....but will use the 245's on last time. Anyone know anybody interested in my set...either just tires, or with the wheel and tire? They have less than 20 runs on them. I'll save the big uns for next month.

Night of the Living Dead

The evening autocross event was a small turnout for the RX8 Cup. It was myself, Sft05, MP5 and Snowfl8k.

Unofficially, the results are: MP5, Kwescott, SFT05 and Snowfl8k. We'll have to wait until the official times are posted. There were some cones hit, and some DNF's....I guess that all comes with not being able to see the course

EDIT: I was just looking over the table Speed posted a couple posts back...if MP% did pick up the first position in this race, and throwing out the current lowest two events....this leaves the current leader board with:

Ulllose (40 points)
MP5 (33 points)
Speeddemon32 (32 points)
Kwescott (32 points)
Sft05 (22 points)
Alex Wan (18 points)
SnowFl8k (17 points)
Mechelle (14 points)

...and then a few who have only run one event....

That was pretty fun. I was glad it got dark before we ran... definitely an interesting twist to autox. It went by pretty quick though since we didn't have many in our run group. Also, changing tires in the dark kinda sucks.

I got a chance to check out the results. They got my cone on the 2nd run, but fortunately my 3rd was clean and only a couple tenths slower. Max in the STi owned us all though... these are the times I remember:

Max 45.3
mp5 46.5
kwescott 46.8

When Keith mistakenly told me he ran a 46.4, I was about to retire from the cup right there out of frustration for losing again due to cones. Good driving man, last couple events have been close!

Thanks.

Too bad we didn't have more show up, it really was an interesting experience. Erica finally was able to experience sticky tires, and not those heat soaked ones I usually end up giving her on those hot days in Fontana. She says she wants to go first next time....but I may have to arm wrestle her for that, given that the next event will be the first set of runs on the big meats.

Rick ran a 48.xx and Erica ran a 49.4x. Rick said that he got lost a couple points during his run. I was able to see the course pretty well, but my depth perception at night sucked.

That was a tough event. I got lost going into the slalom--TWICE! The first run I pushed through the wall when I didn't make the left turn into the slalom. The course workers were pretty vocal in their disgust! You guys were amazing running in the 46's.

Sounds like you guys had fun.... Most 3 runs events I beat Max in his STI by .5.

For me back to back wins in the NW. Got the Prosolo by .9 and the tour by .040.

The Pro course was way more fun and technical than the tour. The tour was fun because every time I laid down a run Joe would match, lucky for me he just came up a tiny bit short. The only way I will do the 20+ hour drive to Packwood ever again is if we have a RV to stay in, the town sucks. When the event comes to town it about doubles the population and they could not handle it. The hotels suck and the few places to eat were running out of stuff. In the last 13 years we have only missed the Northwest region tour/pro like twice and this is the first time I have ever wished we did not make the trip. The NW event has always been the best tour/pro weekend of the year to me, the people and events are the best, but the town and drive just killed it. I wish they would move back to their old site for the tour at least.

So now I can take some of the $1095.00 I won and go to the UT Prosolo.

only if I had tires Razz I would go.....if I sell my R-compounds and the buyer doesn't want my stock rims, I'll probably throw on some Potenzas for a day at the track with you and Ghost.

Keep us posted on this stuff.... I am kind of getting the bug again. No way I would do one this time of year, to hot/hard on the car and the SCCA Solo natls is only a month away. I would be interested in an event on the Streets or Horse in the winter months.

KC, wondering why you assigned Erica 4th place points for the last event if you didn't give Rick any points...he was there as well. He got third and you were correct with 4th for Erica.

And it is interesting to note that it only took me four events to get close to Ulllose...yeah, yeah, I know, he only has three events to my 4, but I can still make that observation, right

In all honesty though, Kc, maybe you should black out the two lowest for everyone at this point...because it does give us a clear understanding of where we are at (it doesn't leave me in second anymore though )
