Dude i got fresh hater marks...like not more then 2 weeks old....there was no ways i could have got it painted in time...sorry fellas i know im going to hear it!!! and they are too deep to WET SAND IT.

Only bad thing we are gonna have people from all areas out there for this event. I hope my car doesnt get keyed. Its one of the reasons i stopped going to huge events like this.

Finally, after about 6 hours of prep my car is all clean and waxed and ready for the show. 2 layers of mequires should do the trick... I put her in the garage till I leave for Saturday morning so she's nice and clean for the caravan.

Only 20 hours left!

 

i am gonna do it all when i get home. i washed and waxed the car yesterday but the neighbor decided to have special dirt shipped and dumped on his lawn yesterday. the car is now layered with dust and dirt.

ouch... but if you just waxed it a simple rinse should get you back to shininess.

 

they were "spraying" down the dirt to avoid it from spreading to other areas. So the misting from the water floating on to my car as well as the dust from the dirt. We'll see how bad it is after the final dirt delivery.

 

i'm almost positive that the above mentioned car wash still exists. here are directions from Mazda Headquarters/Spectrum:

Go north down Irvine Center Drive. It will eventually turn into Edinger. After Jamboree, there will be a shopping center on your right hand side. The car was should be located in there. The shopping center also includes a Jiffy Lube and Jack in the Box, if anyone needs an oil change and some munchies

 

Right now I'm devising a contraption to keep ants off the donuts. If I have to I'll stay up all night to watch for ants!

Too much work.. I'll describe it. It's on a table with the table legs sprayed with ant poison. Then held up on top of a box of my mom's favorite cookies for distraction. It is also near an A/C vent for adequate preservation of freshness. haha

 

yup, the Vice President title has its perks.

Quick update on the video idea about shooting from an overpass.
I've had some people mention interest, either on here or by PM.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will work.
The plan is to meet at Macy's at 5am, and leave by 5:30am.
We should arrive in Irvine by 6am.
I know many of you are not up that early, but I was today.
6am is not going to work for video footage.
I'll still mount my camera on the sticky pod, and video the drive over there, but
waiting at an over-pass for a video is going to be pointless since it will be too dark.
