Not only are those the only days I'm in town, but Charles Hill (nitrous guru) will be here and he might want to meet Elliott as well.
Freakin robot has me in West Virginia the first part of the week and Las Vegas the second!

I don't know if anyone realizes this or not, but the regular rate for those nights at the Doubletree is only $98, so we aren't getting any sort of "break" for being with the SoCal group.

^Agreed Jeff, and understood. Ever since my first event (SS4), the SoCal club has strived to provide a nice hotel at a "reasonable" rate for those of us attending from out of town.
Every year, we said "thanks, but no thanks" and found our own place to stay, which made it hard from the SoCal club to meet their "minimum guarantee" with their hotel. This year they broke from tradition (the Hilton) and chose a hotel that they knew we favored in an attempt to get more of our participation. Personally, it's worth it to me to be close to the event and support the SoCal club. The big issue in the past was covered parking (which is non-existent at the Hilton). The Spectrum has the proximity we like AND covered parking which seems to be a win-win for everyone.

The price, I think, is excellent. I'm not complaining. I don't think they even charged us the $7 parking fee last year.
However, if you are a Travelocity member or have points or discount codes, you aren't saving anything by calling there. That was my point.
I just booked my room on-line. I got a double queen-sized, so if anyone needs a place to stay, its just Niki, me and Chewie in that room. I'm sure Chewie will give up his bed!

I might take you up on that, Jeff, depending if my girlfriend comes or not. I'm also not possitive if I can make it but I am planning on it. I'm actually planning on changing jobs, AGAIN, so who know's if I can get the time off.

I don't know if I agree with that list in the ad, though. Finlandia is awesome Vodka as is Ketel. To put Stoli that far up is a bit silly, too.
