San Bernardino monthly meet and drive 2007 thread.
wow, some of u guys drive your cars even less than me...lol
well, pep boys sells mobile jump start kits starting from $30... i picked up a $60 350-watt one that also has an air station. weighs a ton, but well worth the investment for those of us who don't start up the car everyday...
also, i saw on the news that chp is on patrol in the san bernardino mountains more during the summer, because there's been a rise in accidents in the mountain roads- including fatalities. (people just don't know how to drive the twisties i guess.) also, in the santa monica mountains they've installed stop sign cameras. so, whether be it malibu or san bern we should all be careful and on the lookout...

so..... the car is all cleaned up and perdy for tomorrow.
you know if it were not for the meets the car would just keep the race tires on it, and get really really dirty.
(and no I didnt use soap and water.... again)

Wait - who has the $400+ Passport 9500i w/ GPS? Why am I in front w/ my cheap, 3yr old cobra from Circuit City? BTW, remind me to tell you what I heard regarding the Valentine1 the other day.
FYI -
Well, car started just fine. The battery was not the issue last time, and I only had trouble starting it 1 time after the car sat for about 6 weeks.
Tonight I got home at 12:30, started the car up.
The neighbors were outside organizing their garage w/ band equipment for their party tomorrow.
I took the kid out for a run. Some of you met him at the autoX event. He 17yrs old and drives a Camry.
Anyways, he's never been in an 8. I took him for a little run towards Lytle Creek.
Then when we came back near the house, I let him drive a while and take a nice turn down the street. Plus had him redline it several times.
He seems to of enjoyed it. I know at 17 I would have loved to have driven a 8 aggressively in the turns.
Don't worry, I didn't teach him any bad driving habits.
Of course, I told him to always wear his seatbelt, and never drink and drive unless you got one of those freezable cozies for your beer because the cup holders in the 8 can boil soup after driving that hard.

howdy. made it home with no problems. had the ac on aand yes it worked good til we hit some traffic. then it started to do that hot cold thingy. no over heating my best guess is it was the plate and where i had it. since this was the hottest i've driven with it down there. and i might have to clay bar my car, i'll see if i can do a mild claying with my turtle clay mix. and then rewax there is residue left on but i'm sure it will come out. eventually
oh and the most important thing.

HI everyone! It was a nice meet yesterday. I wish there wasnt so many cars. As soon as we get the picture off the camera we can post some.
This morning I got a E-Mail from Erica here is a update on how they are doing............................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..................................
last day in Paris today and we needed a day off to do laundry and book rooms for our next stop : Germany. Spent four days in London and loved it. We really got the hang of this subway thing and it has been a godsend. We were able to jump from sight to sight using a one day pass on the subways - just jump on and off as much as you like! awesome! We were able to see all the essentials - Big Ben; Parliment; Westminster Abbey; London Eye; Tower of London including White Hall and the crown jewels. We were also able to get a train out for the day to look at big rocks - Stonehenge and Avesbury (right outside of Salisbury - and yes we got steak there!) Now here in Paris we have also done some essentials - Eiffel Tower; Louvre; Arche de Triumph; Notre Dame; and Versaille (for all the good it did - hall of mirrors was closed and we couldn't figure out how to get into different parts of the chateu - and they wanted to charge you $20 every time you tried to enter a door - frustrating). Also found the louvre a little dissappointing because EVERYTHING was in French only and the audio tour that you could buy barely covered around 30% of the items and most of wich we weren't interested in.
Plan from here is to get a train to Berlin tomorrow (monday) for two night and then head south to Munich for two nights before flying to Dublin on the 20th. Probably send another note from Munich or Ireland.

ok update on all that junk on the hood.
i wash the car last nite, and a lot of residue still on the hood, not happy.
so got up this morning rinse the car off, grabed my turtle wax
clar bar, which is not really a bar since it comes in a bottle.
but did that and wax the car with multiple everything. so i got
about 97% of evrything off. so now i'm happy, except for my back.
ouch
