^ very true. but, maybe that's y it's priced at under $40k? it's going to be interesting to see what happens.

remember the VW Phaeton? it was a phenomenal luxury car. it cost something like $80K, but you were basically getting like a $180K car for the price. from what i recall, it was years ahead of the 7 series and s class. but, because it was a <cough> vw, and still very pricey, they sold as well as dead headless hamsters do. in fact, u could pick up a 3 year old one for like $35k, and it would've been a steal.

but, if a VW can depreciate that fast. yah- i'm afraid to ask what the hyundai will do.

Not that I think it'll happen to us since AU is just so popular and we meet during business hours anyway, but something to keep in mind.

yeah, it's bullshit politics. These guys want to be able to say that they "cracked down on street racers" but they haven't! They're just giving out tickets and patting themselves on the back.

See my post about this in the LAX thread. What an absolute waste of our tax dollars

cost to pay extra cops & intel = $503000

tickets given = 98

Average ticket cost = $103

Revenue = $10094

What a great way to spend tax dollars

Wow, thats crap. I'm all for cracking down on street racing. If they saw street racing, they should have swamped all the racers and handed out citations or handcuffs. But for enthusiast meets, where the engines aren't even on, they should support these gatherings. If they encouraged auto enthusiasts to have legal gatherings and admire each others' cars without the need to prove their cars' potentials through illegal racing, police should not discourage this.

I'm a complete fan of state / local law enforcement, but this kind of stuff really gets me a bit heated.

Oh crap.

I totally forgot its the second Saturday, I was thinking next one was. Sorry guys, I've already made a commitment and can't be there today for the meet, even after I specifically told Vipers, "Of course I'll be there for the next meet!"

I'm sorry

well long story short jedi, we did'nt make it past morongo casino.
i got stuck in so much traffic i could not believe it. so we stopped at
the gas station at morongo and she asked to go inside and that was all it
took. not to bad though i walked out $120. bucks richer. so i'm at home
now instead the other place.
on a foot note i topped off the tank before we left, turned off
the dsc, and got 75 mile on the first quarter tank. not bad for cheap gas
