Speed and I successfully ran the Miata at the Pro Solo this weekend. 12 laps of frustration and adrenaline. We definately drove the car to it's limits....now to get some more parts so we can increase that limit

I want one of those new 135's . . but I am gonna wait until the price gets more reasonable. Dealers are asking over sticker for the first several months.




So we finally got the exhaust on Stephs car all sorted out. We still need to do a 'custom' hammer job on the cat converter, but we finally diagnosed the rattling sound; Toyota seems to be a big fan of the heat shields, and they like to rattle.
But now her little car sounds ANGRY!!! Not loud and ricey, it actually sounds like the stock sound . . . just pissed off.

 

so when is steph going to drive the mrs to the meets?

 

I don't have any desire to spend $700 on a mode right now. Especially considering that I'm about to buy new coils/plugs/wires, I'll be at $1000 by the Dyno day. I have too many other things going on right now. Wouldn't be prudent.
Actually, they will work for any year, but they are specific to 1 vehicle at a time. You would have to uninstall if from your car and restore the original map, then install it on my mine. But, once you remove if from mine, I'm back to the original flash anyways, so it's pointless.

re: miata> congrats guys. looks like the car is coming along nicely. speaking of which, the guys from the 626 meet are going to button willow on sat 4/12. they almost have 10+ 8's going. but, dunno what time as of yet. depending on the time, i might go for some ride alongs. will have to see...

re: 1 series> i've seen the car in person & in photos. and, i'm sorry but, i just don't like the odd and boxy shape. although the specs are nice, for a car that was supposed to be a more affordable alternative to the 3 series i'm not sure i agree with the price tag. a loaded 135i turbo is mid-$40k's. how is that cheaper and faster? i hope this car flops- tho i'm sure a lot of girls will buy it.

re: mr2> the 626 meet sat nights is turning out to be a nice multi-import meet. we had about a dozen or so 8's, 1 miata, 3 sti's, and 1 e46 m3. most of the ppl there are friends of members, so it's not like the lax meet where random ppl roll up that no one knows.

It is cheaper to lease a 3-series than the 1.
