UPS story now.....

There once was an HKS exhaust that was sounding perty on a beautiful Snowfl8k, but times had grown warm and the snow had melted. When the heat had finished it's work it left a plain car with plenty of parts to be mailed off. One of these was the HKS exhaust, which was meticulously prepared and boxed, for over two hours infact. The really, really, really handsome knight in his new Snowfl3k delivered that package to a red a white building, where a brown delivery service would come each day to safely pick up packages. Well, this story has a bad ending, but it is unknown as to how it happened. But what is known, is that the really, really, really (etc.) handsome knight received an email indicating that his package was handled roughly, infact, his package was damaged. (and by package, I mean the damn HKS exhaust guys....come one, really?).

Don't know why I did this post, but March has fried my brain, and I don't know which way is up or down at this point.

UPS sent me two emails. The first indicating that the package was "damaged", and a second, later email indicating the the recipient refused delivery given damage. I emailed the guy I sold the HKS exhaust to and asked him if he could give me an update, let me know what he saw when the HKS was delivered to him. He said he never saw a delivery, that he was actually expecting it to be delivered today.

Well, I got another email indicating the the exhaust is going to be returned to the dfrop off location....which was the Staples store by my work. My question, is what happens now.

I paid extra for 500$ worth of insurance...since the guy paid 500 bucks for the exhaust. I wonder what condition a box has to be in to refuse delivery....as it appears that it was not the buyer who refused it, but rather UPS which refused to deliver something in whatever condition the exhaust is in now....?

Are they going to give me a busted exhaust back....or are they going to give me a busted exhaust with a refund of my shipping costs...along with the insurance coverage amount (500)?

oh **** Keith, not good. I would imagine you'd have to fill out a stack of paperwork in triplicate, show the value of the item (to support the $500 insurance), they'll 'investigate', you'll wait, they'll blame Staples, who will blame UPS, you'll wait some more, and eventually you will get a check for $500 and reimbursement on the shipping.

Of course, the above scenario is a complete S.W.A.G. so there's no telling how this story will end...

that's my experience w/ ups as well- which is why i generally think fedex is the lesser of 2 evils.

the good news is if UPS did in fact damage it, they'll own up and pay... eventually. but, the bad news is that to get the $ they will make u jump thru hoops of fire, run across hot coal barefooted, and crawl thru feces. must be their way of hoping you'll just give up and take the loss.

sorry to hear about this. try talking to a manager and cut thru the bs as best u can.

ups = uber risky.

I totally disagree with the above statements.
I purchased a JL Audio amp from ebay.
I paid $300 for it.
I received the package and it was obviously dropped on one corner.
Opened it, and the styrofoam on that corner was split, and the corner of the heatsink was broken and parts were rattling inside the amp.
I called UPS to figure out what to do.
They said to take pictures of the damage, and that they may have someone come pickup the product.
No one showed up to pick up the amp because the email w/ the photos was enough info. They reimbursed the seller the full amount (because she actually paid for the shipping) and she returned the money to me.

GO BROWN!!!

Jake: that's awesome that you're hitting your March goal but moving forward I'd like for you to also concentrate on acquring more clients. I want you to remain pro-active in building your client base and not always holding out for the larger companies.

Also, I have noticed that you're forgetting to put a cover page on your TPS reports. Moving forward, can you make sure that's a priority?

thanks,
Management

I know the feeling. Happened to me after I met Cesar, Keith, Spiceboy, and company at SevenStock. I remember checking out the thread and thinking, "WTF?!" I posted and then couldn't keep up with all the random topics.
I unsubscribed for a while and eventually came back.

our company (NLC) made 2.9 billion on the lord of the rings movies. and, the film industry is always up and down. we have a not-so-good year, and time warner decides we suck and shuts us down.

that's corporate management for ya!

ok that's my rant for the day.

Yeah, since March has been so difficult, I haven't had the same chance to keep up on things in this thread....maybe April will be better.
