I think we can come up with something good...but if sponsors continue to support Casey, than there will continue to be advertisement on the car.

But Casey definately expressed that he wants something that looks less like a driving billboard, and more sporty. With the new wheels (gold), I think we'll see less black on the car for next year.

Yesterday I had some spare time, so I read some old post on themiata forum. something like page two to page 7 (with maximum number of post per page).

MAN did we go through some hard times with this car. when its in the past you tend to forget jsut how much there was and how hard it was to do.

all those frozen bolts, the droping it off and hoping it would be fixed before the first race. all the "It's getting better, but still has a problem".

makes me want to yell out "REPLACE THE INJECTORS, YOU HAVE THE WRONG ONES IN THE CAR.... THATS WHY YOU CANT FIGURE IT OUT, THATS WHY IT DOES NOT MAKE SENCE"

he he he.... if you ever get board. go check it out.

 

no matter what I would like to tone down the advertisments a litle. assuming Pirate City goes again I think I want to move them tothe hood no matter what, that will clear up the sides a lot. I am pretty sure Super Shops will be gone, but we will see. Yellow Jacket.... no idea, I have not even talked to him this year. but even if so, I would like to tone it doen a little. (although last year he said he wanted to do a bigger sponsor for 2009.... so we wil see. maybe he will get the hood). Amsoil has already stated that he wants to do the same thing for 2009. his decal is small. it can stay there.


I want to do something in the tribal theme. Black main graphics, Gold outline (or shadow)

Hello all, again another Iraq deployment almost over and this time I did not get injured. So that makes me happy. However I have a problem! My car has been sitting for the past couple months without being started because the battery went dead and my friend did not know anything about cars let alone the awesomness that is the RX8, so he just let it sit there and not replace the battery. I should be coming home this coming monday or tuesday. Is there anything that is special that needs to happen other then just putting in the new battery I ordered and starting it up? What should I check, oil, tranny, fluids? I know what to do for my mustang because it too had the same problem once before. But its a normal engine in it. ALso will be trying to go on the next meet. Thanks

new battery, hopefully she starts right up.
night run a bit rough at first while the PCM relearns the fuel trims but it should be good to go.

check the oil, make sure its topped off

it also MIGHT smoke a little, this would be from any gunk that collected from siting. in a factory new car like the RX-8 (not a 1065 mustang), you should really nto have any problems other then a battery, but like Jedi said, it might be jsut a touch rough, and might smoke just a little bit right when you start it. but it shoudl clear up by the time it gets warm.

 

When my 8 sat for a long time and the battery died, starting it took some time.
I cranked it for about 15 - 20 secs w/ my foot on the gas until it finally started up.
It almost acted like the engine was flooded.
I cranked it for about 30secs total before it would start. And yes, idle was really rough at first.
Of course, I had jumper cables and it was connected to another car to keep the battery from draining while trying to start it.

Just keep that in mind if you have trouble. (I've had to do this twice)

 

My engine's been making intermittent, belt lapping sounds- ie kinda like a cycling or pulsating "shhh... shhh...shhh..." sound like a belt is rubbing or something. Not too loud but enough where it's definitely noticeable. Doesn't seem to matter whether the car us warm or cold, it comes & goes and driving doesn't feel affected. I had my last oil change/ inspection at 7K miles & have about 8600 now... Another guy started a thread with the same issue but we really haven't gotten definitve answers.

One guy said to push in the coil packs in case they're loose but that sounds weird- nor do I know how or where to to that... Any of u guys have this issue b4?

Am going to have the 626 guys look at it for me on the 20th but figure couldn't hurt to ask u guys too. Trying to determine if it's worth bringing in to the dealer since it's hit & miss.

do the belts feel loose?

I had a similar sound after I installed the mazmart water pump but it was because the belt wasn't torqued down properly.
Your belts shouldn't have been touched so maybe there's a crack on one of them?

 

Not sure... Sometimes engine sounds fine & sometimes it makes the sound. If it is a problem I hope the sound stays there so at least it will be able to be diagnosed... <shrugs>

 

check your belts this weekend.

 

Casey, can you post a sample of the vinly colors you are thinking about. (I can then get a color similar to it, when playing around on Forza)

I really liked the way the chrome and blue looked on the numbers, thought that it would be sharp as well....but I know the chrome is more expensive and doesn't have the longevity of the other materials.

An update on my Xbox360 Elite purchase.

I got home, disconnected the old xbox360.
Bundled up the wires and took my pictures for ebay.

When the old one was put away, I connected the new box.
I could not get it to connect to xbox live.
No matter what I did, to my router or the network settings, nothing worked.
I even tried using my old hard drive, and still nothing.
After about 3 hours of racking my brain, I decided to try and call xbox tech support.

BTW - I was really impressed that I was talking to a live person within a couple of minutes.

So we went through a bunch of test/checks.
Finally she directs me to a screen that shows specific error codes.
There are 4 codes, and she had me read off 2 of them.
She looks up the code, and it says,
Your box has been banned for illegal modifications!!!

If you modify your xbox360 to play copied games, they can sometimes detect it, and if they do, they block that machine from working on xbox live.

Remember, I bought it "new" at Target that same day.
When I got home and went to open it, I noticed it was resealed w/ Target marked packing tape.
I decided I didn't care because it was the only one I could find anywhere near me.
Apparently, someone bought an Elite, modded it, got caught, and did the old switcharoo w/ Target.

I called Target, and they told me to come in and exchange it, but I reminded them they didn't have any more.
Fortunately, the Target in Rancho had 2, so I went there, and they exchanged it for me, no problem.
I even told them what the issue was, but the guy I spoke too said Target should not have re-sold a returned xbox.
It should not have been on the shelf.

Anyways, got the new one home, and connected it, everything worked no problem.
I've now moved all my files to the new hard drive, and the old box is ready for ebay w/ the old hard drive newly formated.
