Casey, I was looking at some of the discussion on the Solo2 site. Looks like you take your highest 11 finishes for the year. We have 14 scheduled events this year...so it is possible that a person could not show, or could perform poorly at 3 events and still do well in points.

This also would help if I was to change classes at this point in the year. I would still have an opportunity to grab some points.

Ok, so here are a couple options from the Enkei web site that may work. Not in any particular order:

(1) NTO3+M

18x9.5 w/40mm offset - 19.4 pounds (silver)

(2) RPM2 (massive spoke style)

18x9 w/35mm offset - 21.1 pounds (hyper black)

(3) RC5 (five spoke design similar to our OEM)

18x9 w/42 offset - 19.5 pounds (silver)

(4) RPF1 (the wheels that Goodwin has in the 45mm offset)

18x9.5 w/38mm offset - 18.6 pounds (silver)

(5) RPO3 (more stylish 5-spoke)

18x9.5 w/38mm offset - 21.2 pounds (silver)

(6) RPF1 type RC (ugly wheel)

18x9.5 w/45mm offset - 22.7 pounds (silver)

Stock wheels are close to 25 pounds, correct?

I think I like the Wedsport options given their weight and color options. I like the Kazera and ASA rims for their color and price...they are heavy as stock...so don't see a real advantage getting those.

4 tires (265.00 each) = 1060.00
4 Wedsport (359.00 each) = 1436.00

Total 2496.00.

Switching to the Kazera or ASA

4 tires (265.00 each) = 1060.00
4 rims (205.00 each)= 820.00

Total 1880.00

Buy your Kumhos from Americas tire in Chino Hills. They take care of the racers, they will match TRs and mount for free. They are also the one place in town that can mount the tires with no problems. Check the calclub site for all the people that have spent a day driving all over town only to end up there because none of the other shops could get them on.

yeah the weight sucks, but at least they are stil 9.5" wide!

seems to me like the Enkei's are the best deal. less weight, less money. what more could you ask for. I think I will just wait the month and get those.

The word I hear is the wait is 2-3 months at best. Enkei is so busy filling OE orders that other stuff is on the back burner.

I think I would make another choice.

Tuff call, the ASA is .5 wider but also weighs 5 lbs more than Weds.....

If I were going to make a serious BSP/SM RX8 I would go with that 18X9.5 38mm RPF1 and work the front fenders to make it fit.

holy jeebus batman thats a lot of money!

I still think I will wait it out for the Enkeis. it's not like I dont already have slicks.
Jasons, how much do you think I could get for a set of V710's say 25 runs on them.

(245's of course. the ones on my car.)

how much are stock wheels going for?

Stock wheels seem to go for $300-500, depends on if they have TPMS and condition.

Expect the tires are worth about half what you paid.

Would I assume that both Wedsports are 44mm, or just these? I have made those changes to my post above. The Wedsports look like a very good option. I'm gonna call around and see if I can get a cheaper price.

Far as I know just that set that they did not have info listed for online.

Starting to think you should just go with the cheap 18X9.5... At this point, being a newbie, a 5 lb difference in wheel weight wont make a difference. Once you start to figure things out the couple tenths of a second the light wheels are worth will become more important. You could use the cheap 9.5 to get started and order a set of the Goodwin wheels. Then when the light wheels come in just sell the other set or put them on Snoflakes car with street tires.

you always make me think...

Right now, Snow has a set of 19 inch staggered Hiros...not sure she would want really wide 18's.

I really am liking this option the best:

WedsSport TC005 18X9 44mm, 18.5 lbs, $399 TireRack

Go for it, I am sure you will be happy with them. btw when you call Larry for the tires ask him about the wheels. I sure he will match the price if he can get them.

alright, no luck on getting those Wedsport wheels for any cheaper. I guess 399 and 359 are the going rate. I know there is more overhead in these prices...I just wish I could get them down to the 300.

On a second issue, I was told that Kuhmo doesn't have any 285 tires available at this time. Uggh, frustration setting in.

At this point, if I am going to be forced to use 245's...I may as well keep my stock rims since I wouldn't be saving much weight by going with the Kazera or ASA. I could use this season to get used to driving on race tires, save up money, and then purchase the "perfect" setup later.

I'll use tonight to talk with Erica about our options at this point, to figure out what we well do. Mischelle and Erica signed up for a practive event so they could get some more lap time in....they will be on street tires for this one given that I won't be able to swing getting tires swapped during this week.

If Larry cant get them that just means the Kumho warehouse is out.... Tirerack list them as in stock, so call them for the wheels and tires.

Keith, on may 28th, BSP and BSPL run in the morning, and STU is LAST to work, (run group 6). just thought you would like to know.

also there is a practice on May 27th that opened up yesterday. if your interested you might want to get your checks in. I have not as I really dont have the money right now. I think I will skip that practice...... unless Michelle wants to do that one.

Hi guys! Today I toke Speeddemons car out to practice day and Snowfl8k toke Kwescott's 8. I have never done a event and snow has done two before but we wanted a girls day so the guys sat out. I was really scared to try because I thought I would make a foul out of myself but instead had a really good time. Here are my times but bare with me

80.2, 71.2, 69.9, 67.8, 67.2, 69.9 DNF, 67.2, 69.9, 67.2, 65.2, 65.5, 66.8 DNF, 66.1, 65.1, 65.7, 65.1, 64.9, 65.2, 62.8 Cone missing from slalom, 63.4, 63.3

Casey was able to run a couple of my runs and got
60.73, 60.62, 59.35

We where running 42 pounds of pressure in the tires (when cold) and forgot to change them later in the day. That would have helped some also.

So now the guys have to watch out because their girls are going to bring some heat Just give me alittle while
