yeah, definitely NOT the start to the day that we were looking for. I just remember seeing a huge cloud of dust behind me on the freeway and screaming on the radio, "tell me that's not one of us!!"
"yup, that was some of our cars" - Scremn8
You should have seen Michael, Danny, and I get off the freeway and do Mach freaking 3 the other way on the freeway to get back to those guys to make sure everyone was okay.
Fortunately no injuries, just some busted up cars and hurt egos.
you're right, it kind of does have a bit of a smile to it.
Maybe it's because deep down the car is kind of happy knowing it's now getting a new front end.
And I think some of us know what Atilla is gonna upgrade to....
I think dlum got off the easiest, track rat took out a sign post on the side of the freeway.
not pretty
I'll post up pics later.
Just got out of bed after yesterday's 20 hour day. I was a zombie when I got home last night at about midnight.
Yeah man, it was AWESOME to see us show up to this and absolutely clean house, I couldn't be happier for us after yesterday's results.
The categories and winners were:
Street Mild - a Yellow focus hatch took this award
Street Aggressive - an FB took this award! (chalk up another point for the Rotary crowd)
Oh, what's funny is that Greg, Danny, and I were all entered in the Street Aggressive category but after about 30 minutes of displaying our cars and the sheer amount of attention our cars were getting, the meet judges / organizers came over and asked to speak with the owners of "these cars"
We were like, "oh ****, what did we do?"
I walk over there and the guy says, "Sorry guys, we gotta bump you up a category, you guys are being moved up to Street Wild! It just wouldn't be fair for the Ford guys to have you in the 'Aggressive' category" We all took that as one hell of a compliment.
Street Wild - Gregs
and the Grand Daddy of them all....
BEST IN SHOW as voted by the participants: NgoRX8!!!
To be honest, we were hoping to just win ONE trophy for our group as we had come to grips with the fact that we were pretty much in enemy territory given that this was a meet aimed for Ford Focus', the judges would probably be Ford Focus owners, and the majority of the participants at the show who would be voting were Ford Focus owners.
Although, as the award presentations started, we knew we'd be in good shape when the organizer said, "wow, the RX8 guys cleaned house..."

Danny deserves best in show for any show he enters in my book, haha!
Congrats Gregs, had to say I could see that coming!
Derek - Took down stance? Nice work! Way to rep the 8's guys...
I'm just finishing up the car today, two days late :[

yeah, due to the unfortunate events i can't say it was a "great" day but i'm not going to complain regardless...
i'm ok...my car is ok...everybody is ok...AND we took home some pretty SWEET trophies...
MADDD PROPS TO THE FSC n' THE JUDGES.
This event was VERY well organized and the crowd was super friendly n' very social. Lots of people came by n' talked with us with open minds n' no hate (rare right?) Much respect right there...
and the JUDGES...mannn...i couldn't get over the fact that those guys really did a great job...i can't imagine how tough it might have been for them to host this event that was primarily for the ford focus crowd but still remain unbiased...they demonstrated a great deal of character. Maddd respect to them.
idgaf...i'm going next year for sure

Picture time!!!

Atilla showing his car some luv after it gave it to dlum in the ***.

This was a SICK little car, very custom paint job and a sweet stereo install.

One of the main vendors Bojix Design brought out a few of their cars including this sweeet little Lotus

Street Mild Winner

check out this little puppy!

I was petting her for a bit and she was SUPER playful but careful not to **** her off or she'll bite your ***** off.

We saw this little guy on the freeway on the way out there in the morning and SURE ENOUGH, he was headed to the event.
That wing is massive...errr... hideous.

Vendor Black Mamba was there with a few cars

Trackrat and the fresh damage from the drive out to the event.
We were all complimenting that sweet CF splitter earlier in the morning.
