BTW, I stopped into Showcase yesterday and sat in their Shinka for at least a half hour. Sweet ride and if I weren't so in love with my Gen 3 I'd be taking that off the showroom floor for them. The other disappointment was their lack of skilled and knowledgeable sales staff. I hate it when everytime I ask a question, the salesperson goes running off to ask the sales manager. Great products, but poor product knowledge IMO!

Well Tim, I just registered with Mazda Comp. this morning and I see that as a registered racer, Mazda extended the S-Plan to all registered racers for Mazda vehicles. Including the RX-8!

MnyRex.... we usually meet at the Chilis, just East of the Loop 101 and Bell Road across the street from Arrowhead Mall (NW Valley). Chilis is on the South side of the street.

Pret... yea, I'd love to buy that Shinka. I've been with MazdaComp for a couple of years now, but I'm not sure if they'd let the Shinka go for the S-Plan price. Interesting question though??

Hope to see everyone on the 17th. Let me know if you have other questions!

Maybe I'll have the 7 fixed by then. If not I'll at least meet you all at Arrowhead.

I was just wondering as to how many people are going to this thing on Sunday? And what all are we doing, from my understanding is that we are cruising up there eating and then come back home... am I right or wrong?

Tim's latest e-mail below. Carol and I plan on going. Tim is right about the Highway Patrol. I got my first ticket in 39 years last year on Yarnell Hill.

* * * * *

Everyone,

Just a quick reminder that our RCCAZ Spring Run to Prescott is THIS SUNDAY, April 17th. We will be meeting at Chili's Restaurant on the South side of Bell Road just across the street from Arrowhead Mall (NW Phoenix) between 9 and 10 a.m. Departure time will be 10 a.m. sharp.

From there, we'll cruise together to Wickenburg where we'll stop at the McDonalds for a short bathroom break, then continue on through Yarnell and into Prescott via SR89A. If you've never been on that road, it's pretty twisty, so it's a fun drive to stretch the legs on your RX.

Once in Prescott, we’ll have lunch at Murphy's (if Tim can find it), give away some door prizes, then continue on through Prescott Valley (time permitting), up Mingus Mountain, through Jerome and Cottonwood before heading back to I-17 at Camp Verde and back into the Valley. We're hoping to be back by 5 p.m.

If you have a Motorola Talkabout hand-held FLR frequency radio, please bring it along. It’s a great way to stay in contact while we’re enroute. Also, if you have a radar detector, please bring it with you. Your friendly Arizona DPS officers like to keep an eye on certain sections of our proposed route, so radar detectors will help minimize your chance of a ticket!

Finally, we have a new RCCAZ Club Liability Waiver that I’ll be asking everyone to look over and sign before the drive. It’s been a long time coming, but I’d like to thank several of our members who provided input to the final product.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Sunday.

Tim

Everyone,

Mny Rex is kind of right. Yes, we are driving from Phoenix to Prescott with lunch up there, but getting there with a group of RXs is a whole lotta fun :D

Not sure how many yet Mny Rex since I haven't been asking for RSVPs. Expect at least 10. Maybe more. Hope you can make it!

09Factor I just PM'd with a new 8 owner who also happens to live in Gilbert!! WOOOOT! I sent an invite for tomorrow's drive; I sure hope they make it. So...are you taking the 7 or the 8 out tomorrow 'eh? :D

Pret & RCCAZ, I saw that Shinka at Showcase yesterday (I had to get my 15k mile checkup). That color combo is so hot. I just love it! Too bad they price the Shinka at a premium; I just want the color! I liked the wheels on her too.

MNYREX it may sound a little lame that we're just driving, eating lunch and driving back, but I think you'll have a good time. It's so cool to see a convoy of 7's and 8's snaking through the twisties having a good time!

I'm definitely planning on being there so I hope to see lots of 8's this time! Pret - you coming too? Abbid - tsk tsk my man. Tsk tsk.

(Edit) Is anyone in touch with Huff and is he coming along tomorrow too??

Are you kidding me? I was under the impression they gave in and fixed it. Atleast thats what I thought you told me.

It would be probally cheaper to have you seats re-skined.
