ok, new topic. I'm wondering what we can do about this whole "new nav" disk thing I've been reading all over about. I remember Speeddemon saying that he got one as well. I was wondering if this is something that Krazie could copy so that we could have the new one.
I havent received anything from Mazda yet.
What I've been reading is that it doesn't update any of the maps though
. Is this true Speeddemon?

ok, another new topic
. Anyone interested in going to see Saw 2 tonight? Erica and I are going, probably to the Edwards or AMC at the Ontario Mills Mall. I'm not interested in getting up and down all night to answer the doorbell.
I have no idea what times the showings are, but I plan to go after work, and maybe after a quick bite to eat.

Keith, I've been following the nav issue as well and here's what I've gathered:
- The discs that people are receiving are the firmware updates. ('04 models w/ nav most likely need this)
They don't change the maps at all, just add some back end menus and allow users to run the new Navtech maps.
- The new maps from Navtech ($150)are a little less then a year behind. Point of interests have been updated in certain areas but if live in a new track, it most likely won't be on there.
Now for the bad news: Unlike the old map disks, these bad boys can't be copied. (they're copy protected.
) Beers to anyone who can figure out how to copy this thing.

Oh and if anyone here does need the firmware, Jedi's got you guys covered:
"Okay.. you can find a copy of the navigation update software here:
http://storeandserve.com/download/3...update.iso.html
Directions on how to update your navigation system can be found here:
http://storeandserve.com/download/3...update.txt.html
Download the .iso file, and load it up in your favorite cd burner software (most have an option to burn an image from a file), then read the text file on how to update your nav system with the cd."
...copied from another thread.

Is it just me or does nobody want to work today, there have been a lot of posting here and on the Malibu Cruz thread, as well as emails at my work. Don't we have a job?

I so do not want to work today:
Not only is it Monday, but it's also "month-end" so I'm up to my eyeballs in reports.
Can't wait to get home and scare the heck out of little kids.

Sorry keith but No wet bag of pumpkin seeds for you. Actually the other one is mine and the flames are casey. Now I have to go look at lespers. More kids liked mine more then Casey's. EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE TO WHAT IT IS.

Just a quick off subject question but what does "Beers" and "Bump" mean as far as postings?
Rotulation Headquarters nice looking pumpkins, sorry to hear about your 7 but on the bright side you may not miss the up coming meet.

"bump" is a meaningless post so that the thread gets "bumped" to the top of the page. Threads that don't get any action (or posts), slip down the page further and further into oblivion (otherwise known as page 2...since no one ever gets to the second page). Unless you have Stickie status...stickie status leaves you at the top of the page regardless of when the last post was.
What is fun, is to go to the last page and "bump" the oldest (non active) thread in a section. You'll always get someone who will say something nasty like "Holy revival of an old thread Batman" (sorry, I know, bad Batman impression)....Buut don't just put "bump", instead, make a rediculous comment or ask a question not even related to the thread....its good fun.
"Beers" is just a positive salutation for a guy...kinda like a girl saying "Love" blankity blank.

Ok, I have an idea that I met one of our new members to this thread on my way home from the theatre tonight. It was a Titanium, lowered with 19's (I assume). K&N intake, obviously. He exited Foothill.
Oh, and by the way....Saw 2 was a great way of spending Halloween.

i saw a blue 8 on my way home from work tonight. he got off on 4th street (out by Grove Ave.) going E on the 10 FWY. but since i don't know anybody from the forums personally, i don't know if he visits this forum at all.

. it's all good though
