LOL... I think you're slowing trying to morph my name into your's. Cesar...Casar...Caser...Casey!!!

Anyways, as lesper mentioned, you don't need to sign-up on-line, you can just show up. I will say this much though.

School of Zoom!
Learn the fundamentals of performance driving from our team of professional driving instructors. This class begins with a quick ground school that teaches basic performance driving techniques. This "chalk talk" is followed by an instructor coaching you through the curves in a Mazda RX-8.

And you get to drive the new MX-5, which I'm not sure I can fit into, but I'll try.

BTW - I sent you a PM.

- Cesar -

Finally back from the land of China

Erica and I returned from our trip just last night. We were so glad to be home as we had developed a severe case of home sickness by Day 16 of our journey. For the most part, things went well, especially given that we made no other plans than our plane flight to/from China....and our investment in a "Lonely Planet" book on China. Our return home, was not so pleasant. We discovered that the toilet near the front of the house had busted sometime during our trip and had flooded most of three rooms. We are in the process of repairing this already, as this was our first goal upon waking up this morning. Along with the money spent on extremely large items while in China...and the thousand dollar deductible I'm looking at for the flood repair/damage...looks like rims are gonna have to wait until tax return time.

Never did see any RX-8's in all of our travels through China, nor any sightings in Hong Kong. Most of the cars in mainland China were pretty small beaters. There idea of modification was to add as many aftermarket stickers to their rides. We did see one Xb-type car with a roof wing and a couple of canister exhausts..but that was the extent of mods. Hong Kong, however was interesting to say the least. Saw two Skylines, a Lotus Elise, Ferrari Modena, Evo8's and a whoel bunch of WRX/STi's. Even saw a Mazda 2......even smaller than our US Mazda 3 (if you can believe that).

Anyways, glad to be home and glad to be back in the comforts of being able to drive myself places...and the other comforts like being able to read menus and know how to order. This was probably our biggest obstacle...finding a place where we could figure out how/what to eat. On most days, we would end up eating once around lunch time...maybe even twice (on a good day where we were able to find a menu with pictures where we could point to what we "thought" we wanted).

I would like to share just a couple of pics from our journey. It definately was an experience of a lifetime.

Had a drinking contest with some locals. They aren't too "experienced" with beer, they mostly drink hard alcohol with 40-56% alcohol. I showed them the American way to chug a pint...and beat them everytime. Erica even got in the act by challenginf both the men and women at the next table....it was a lot of fun...and because they wanted to be around Americans so bad...we didn't even have to buy drinks all night.

The Great Wall was just as advertised..."Great". We nearly died on the wall. 10 km is a long way when it is mostly steps going upwards....even made worse by the 3km trek up a steep mountain side to even get to the wall.

We also went to Xi'an..to see the newest wonder of the world, the Terracotta Warriors. We were so impressed, we ended up buying a full scale replica to display at our home...we should get that in about 3 or 4 months. I'll have to take some pics when it comes.

Not much to do in Shanghai or Hong Kong, mostly just taking in the culture and daily grind, walk through malls/shops, and head to the bars at night. It was a good way to wind down the trip, but it did make us home sick....

Spent a lot of time on trains, traveling from place to place. Took three trains during our trip, for a total of 72 hours (13 + 31 + 28). Boy are our butts sore.

Your tint looks good, Kevin. I didn't get there until 11am on Friday, and they asked if I could come back another day because they were pretty busy.

They have the same brand tint (HP Cuantum) that I put on my old car, which worked well for me in the past. Unfortuneately, it costs more than $169, so I might do a bit of shopping around before my appointment this week.

Glad to see that kwescott and snowfl8k are back. Sorry to hear that your arrival at home wasn't pleasant. Plus think about all the weight you lost from not eating . Sounds like you had enough beer to make up all the calories though :p . ok see you guys soon

Buildings and cars

kwescott and snowfl8k great pictures. As a fan of architecture and cars both of great design it must have been an exciting trip fro you two. The skyline looks sereal compared to the states and the cars...well you just don't see those kind very often especailly the skyline. Then again I saw 2 elises in newport on saturday and a lambo gerrado on the free way today in ontario. By the way what is a mazda 2? Good luck with the house.

P.S. i wont make the next meet becasue i am going to magic mountain but i might try to make the one in pasadena if they are doing it again.

Lesper, it's not how many windows my car has (the RX-7 has fewer windows). I wanted the metallic-film "Quantum" tint, which blocks more heat and is slightly reflective, but is also more expensive. She said $220, which turns out to be more than what I paid back in '02 when I had the windows on my Impreza tinted. I might just go back to that shop in Pomona, I had forgotten how reasonable their prices were.

then call the place back up and tell them, "Hey Bitch, I have this price, from this place for this tint... can you beat it... bitch?"
