My SS iS inStalled. (Short Shifter)

Took a quick drive around the block, and loved it.

I would have driven more, but I'm trying to avoid driving at night until I get my missing headlight replaced.

Oh wait, I haven't told you guys about that...

I had my driver's side headlight unit replaced by the dealer because it was fogging up.
They did the passenger side last year.
Anyways, after they finished, I got a call.

Dealer: Your car is ready, except for a minor problem. 1 of your bulbs is not working.
(Apartly, they replace the housing, but use the existing bulbs.)

Cesar: It was working this morning when I dropped the car off at 6:30am.

Dealer: Well, we don't know about that, but we ordered a new bulb.

Cesar: Did they break it when they were replacing the light.

Dealer: No they didn't break it.

According to them, they didn't break it, but they did order a replacement bulb, and the invoice says no charge.

Interesting.

Anyways, I got a call today that it is in.
I will drop the car off in the morning, and hopefully pick it up w/ nothing else wrong.

They also took care of the recalls. The gas tank heat thing, and the A-arm recall.
I don't think I had an issue w/ either. They also flashed the PCM to the latest flash.
Tomorrow I will ask what they flashed it to.
I think I got like +35hp from that last flash...

Ya, what he said ^^^.

If you read the Repair Procedure, it's actually pretty simple to check.
I checked it myself, and I knew there was no problem, so I didn't rush to the dealer.

I never received any recall info.
I only knew about them from reading the forum, and always checking the Finishlineperformance website.

if your not kidding, yeah, its just for looks. no it does not replace anything, nor does it make the car 2 punds lighter. it goes over the stock parts.
as one person put it in another thread..... "its a sticker". although it's not a sticker. a sticker is..... well a sticker. these sick or glue on, and are not removable.at least i would not want to try removing it.

12/15 & 12/16 is a Drifting event. They're just going to watch.
January we will be at an autox event for the regular Saturday meet.
A bunch of us plan on participating in that one.
Maybe we'll do a drive in Feb.
It'd be great if you could join us.

Sorry, Detrich, I didnt mean for that to sound mean. It was more of an inside joke. Snowflk got flamed pretty good for installing her dash kit. people told her it was to Blingy.... but yeah it changes the look of your interior. snowfl8k has silver on silver carbon fiber, Kwescott has red, and i will have the yellow one as soon as it gets here.

if you look back a few pages, you can find some pictures of snowfl8ks. or you can just wait for Kwescott, and myself to post pics.

for clairity:

Dec 15/16 is the D1 at Irwindale. I dont think anyone is going, but i know some of us would love to.

Dec. 16? Cesar is going to the auto cross school in San Diego.

Jan 14, (our regular meet day) will be held at Fontana speedway this month for the Auto cross. if you want to go, keep an eye on the SOLO2.com web site, and try to get in by mailing your payment in. or just come and watch and hang out, and go for rides with those of us driving.

Feb 11, our regular monthly meetings will return in Feb. we will be meeting at Pirate city tattoo parking lot like normal.

when are we doing a big bear run to take some pictures near the snow?

Granted our cars won't stand a CHANCE without winter tires, but maybe just close enough to get some good pics and then continue on a normal run.

What do you guys think?

IF for whatever reason I can't make it to the meet to cheer you guys on, then I might just post pics.

I laughed so hard when I saw that.
I guess it's cause I know who they are. Here's a link that explains who they are.

Anyways, I went to Redlands Mazda.
I just got a call that the car is done.

Snow pics all depends on when the snow (not Erica) comes....None yet. I don't recall when we went last time, but I do remember that it was the day after I installed my MS kit...and boy, what a way to break the cherry on the fresh paint. I know Red Baron's car took some serious abuse as well, with all that red rock and salt on the roads. No problem with traction, we just drove nice and slow to the turnout 3/4th the way up the hill.

Speeddemon, I went to the body shop prior to work this morning. Their computers were down, so I didn't get an estimate. Good news. I will not have to leave my car down there. They will cut a piece off the bumper, from behind the liscence plate for color matching purposes, and then call me to schedule an installation time. Bad news, they will probably not be able to save the rotory accent or rear aero flares, which is going to make the cost a little higher. I'm sure that I can request to have these parts, and maybe we could recoup some of the cost by selling them to other forum members. Just an idea. The other thing is that the part will come primed, so it will have to be painted. Just thought I would send some info so that you might be able to pass it along for me. Thanks.

I'm getting anxious to install my dash kit. It has been sitting at the house for two days now. It is really a two person job. I'm sure I could get some of the peices installed, but I may not do the best job trying to rush. One person has to prep the area, while the other person heats the piece up with a hair dryer. Then peel the backing off to install. It really takes good timing and a steady hand. Snow did an excellent job installing her kit, and I would like to wait for her help. She's at school tonight, and we have plans for both Friday and Saturday....so I may have to wait till Sunday to actually get anywhere with it...big bummer as you can imagine.

Rotary clubs, in my experience, are usually volunteer organizations that do things for the community. They set up toy drives, help the elderly...this sort of stuff.

^^^ You are correct.

Rotary International is the largest service club in the world. They have "clubs" in just about every city and are usually trying to save the world, feed the hungry, and stuff like that. (I'm not poking fun, that's really what they do)
I've recently met some people who are Rotarians so that's how I know.

Kwescott...I'm SO confused.

Whats all this talk about a body shop. Did you hit something recently or are you modding your car again?

I was hit last night...more or less cut a slice in my rear bumper just to the left of the liscence plate. Cut through the softer Urethane portion and into the stiffer lower plastic portion. It was not very noticeable last night, but it is more obvious in the bright sun with the black paint. As everyone who has a black car knows, every little door ding or old bird poop stain stands out like a sore thumb.

Viper, after receiving the estimate today, it may be more worthwhile for everyone involved to look aftermarket. I guess I'll start looking tonight when I'm at home...staring at my damn dash kit that is sitting next to the computer.
