damn ray, u get lucky on one thing...then another happens. that sucks man.

BTW, anyone know anything about getting a ticket with a "camera radar" for the city of west covina? it has a slot that says radar information on the ticket... but i'm contesting it anyways since i'm sure the officer won't remember me or bother to come to court for a ticket 6-7 months ago.

inputs?

in-dash GPS

Hi guys I need some help here:

Currently I'm planning to install a in-dash GPS, but I'm not sure whether I should get a single din or double din GPS. Everything I got right now is OEM, which means i'll need to spend extra money for the dash kit :/ I was actually searching for something like this:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...&highlight=DVD

But the thing is, since i got a 2005 shinka, i don't know if that's where the satellite radio placed. I've called sammy's shop about it, and the lady there told me I should get one of the pioneer, but she didn't tell me if it's single or double. Only told me it's pioneer and the labor will cost around $400 something

The reason i'm looking for single din and place above the red LCD is that, it's easier to drive and look at GPS at the same time, and still have the OEM red LCD does its work, which is displaying the OEM things. And cost less to buy a double din dash kit.

Any suggestion on where to get the things done? I'm looking at GPS that supports bluetooth and ipod, single din, and the dash kit that mentioned above.

Would appreciated any kind of help.

my suggestion is that you don't go with that dash mount kit altogether, because it looks really, really fugly. if it were me, i'd rather just use a window mount/ removable GPS than have that monstrocity of a beast on my dash... but, that's just me.

if u really have to get an in-dash kit, look into the one ray and some of the other guys have. it sits within the center console where your cd changer/ stereo goes- ie where the oem navi would sit on the 2009 rx-8.

a lot of us have the corksport dash kit, made for double-din and replaces the stock radio. the Pioneer AVIC-D3 is a great double din headunit. your lcd will still work but it wont display clock or audio information. the ambient temperature will still show.

I know kelvin, but the thing is the corksport kit won't let the LCD display clock/audio plus it's kinda pricey. I know the metra kit is coming out soon, so I might wait for that.

Btw, any suggestions on navi/bluetooth/ipod?

i don't know what else to suggest since i've only looked at double-din's, so if you want a single din you should ask some people in the electronics forum. if the metra comes out and is relatively cheap you should still consider the pioneer avic series. nav/blutooth/ipod/xm/AV1/AV2/DVD/CD/MP3.. you won't regret it
