I had that strange pedal all the way to the floorboard going up the grapevine and couldn't crack 35mph.

LOL!! how much stuff were you hauling???
Rental trucks always suck, especially U-Haul trucks. I've rented from Penske the last 2 times I helped someone move, trucks seem to be newer and with more powah!

Had a two bedroom apartment full of furniture and a civic hatchback on the carrier. Uhaul always has the half million mile trucks in the 24 foot size. The best part was the AC dying before we even hit the grapevine so my buddy (who came along to help unload once we hit NorCal) and I got to lose 10lbs of sweat on the drive. We stopped at harris ranch and drank half our body weight in water. By the time we got to the 152 it was dark and I was unfamiliar with the road. Wasn't sure where it would be safe to pull off the road and still be able to get back on with the slow monster of a Uhaul. The reason I was even looking for a place to pull over was because we both had to pee. Took 2 hours to get from the 5 to the 101 on the 152... by that time we both had our "omg I've got to pee" faces on... we ended up pulling into the parking lot of the outlet mall and using a nearby bush. These two old ladies drove past us and must have assumed it was gay sex night at the mall... we both were "oohing and ahhing" from the worlds best pee.

I agree that Penske is the way to go for big trucks, they're newer and better maintained.

If there is anyone that is planning to get an AccessPORT for the dyno day, please let me know in advance so I can have them with me.
If you pay for it in advance via my WEB site (which will guaranty that you get one) between now and July 25th, I will refund your S&H charges!

I just booked my trip to Oakland, so plan accordingly!

The dyno day is for any RX8 owners. If you only want to get your car dyno tested it is $50 for 3 pulls. If you have an AP or INT-X you cna get it dyno tunned by MM. See post 107 for complete explination of pricing. Short story is that the price for tunning depends on how many people we get and if you did not purchase an AP from MM it will cost you $150 for tunning plus dyno.

???
Do you already have nitrous or were you looking for an install?
If you already have it, what were you expecting CHR to do?

It was a question I asked a while back. If there is still no tuning solutions to running bigger shots then I'm good.

I already did the install so that's not needed.

t-rex: there is still no "additional tuning" out there for nitrous. You should dyno with the nitrous just to see what #'s you can get.

Dynoing should be soley used for tuning. Dyno numbers are beyond useless if the car cannot perform on the track which is why I remain skeptical of any new "kit" that comes out til someone slaps it on a car that is going to be raced.

RX8s will never put out impressive dyno queen numbers so why waste the gas/time/money to pick up embarrassing dyno sheets? I would use it however as a time to meet some locals however.

I just remember some wondering what gains could be had with a nitrous tune but I see no one has gone that route. Also Hill spoke of doing some work on testing higher shots but I see that has been put on hold as well.

I think it should be a fun event however without anything to tune I can't justify it unless I just come to hang out.

So if I was to buy an Accessport from MM and then had him install it, would that be considered a tune? If not does that mean I just would have to pay $50 for the dyno? Hopefully I can get off work on the second, if so I should be able to make it.
