are neon lights under the car (ala fast & the furious) illegal? if so, why?

How about those little lights you put on your wheels/tires that spin around while driving? are those illegal?

and how about neon license plates?

 

Hahaha Yes those neon underglows are illegal. i have no idea why but if it were up to me i would make em illegal just because they look so damn stupid and cuz they're RICE. As for the LED lights on the rims i dont know, but my guess would be that they are illegal also.

they are all illegal because they are considered a distraction to other drivers

Grr I wish I didn't live in a world of trends and rice and euro lights... I like doing stuff because it suits my tastes and my tastes only.... which would have meant blue lights under the car

they are illegal in some counties, and cities. the penal codes vary amoung cities as judisdiction changes. example- some cities they are legal if the bulb is not showing, some are entirely illegal. some are legal if they are certain colors, etc. I recommend contacting your local traffic personel or police station, perhaps the penal code is online.
