Some dude in a Civic Si got his *** owned by me on the freeway the other day. I pulled on him nicely from 80-110 in 4th gear.

battery as well as your starter. I got one of the new starters under warranty, it sounds cool when you start it up.

wow Ocho!

1) what years is yours? If it's an 04 or early 05, you might be eligible for the upgraded battery / starter.
2) if your car is shaking while sitting at lights or when the A/C cycles, then you definitely need the motor mounts looked at. I think it's the Right one that fails
3) air bag light stays on or just comes on from time to time? (Rasp had that)
4) did you check all 4 tires when they were cold? (what psi were they at?)
5) does it make a popping sound when people get out? If so, it's normal.
6) original fluids in the car still? how many miles do you have?

Jorge,
1. my 8 is an 04
2. this weekend had the a/c on and it would shake so does my sunroof.
3. air bag light goes on and off from time to time.
4. i checked the all air pressure on my tires.....i guess it has to do with the heat
5. a piece of pastic came off and another is hanging.
6. original fluids remain in tranny.....Royal Purple soon. (have 33K miles)
f$#k!

do NOT put Royal Purple in there. I'd suggest Redline instead. Trust me...

yeah, I thought so as well BUT I'm starting to learn otherwise. I'm seeing a strong pattern with RP and gear grinding at HIGH rpm's. Shifts are super smoother at low RPM's but I'm starthing to think RP doesn't respond well with our synchros at 7,000+ rpms

Rodger: since you've now got RP, you get to be another guinea pig. How's the transmission been since swapping? Have you done some HIGH 1st to 2nd shifts? More or less grind then what you had previously? (did you have oem or redline?)

I had redline. Transmission shifts better at every rpm. I did a few 9k - 1st to 2nd shifts without any problems.

I have to say that getting new motor mounts, putting the stock shifter back in, and using royal purple fixed my tranny issues.

I ran out of it when I was filling the tranny. So I added about an ounce of RP 75-90 diff oil.

That might have thicken it up a little.
