i beleive he has to register it here first before he gets it but he will be driving around with the euro plate for a while. i had a friends who went to europe to get his sabb and is was that way.
a friend of mine did a similar trip to pick up his Saab. All of the registration / plates is taken care of by the dealership.
The cool thing is they usually let you keep the foreign plate as well.
He's got his foreign plate on the front and his CA plate on the rear. (you can get a ticket for that in CA though....then again, what WON'T get you a ticket here these days.)

yes, you guys are correct. The dealer handles everything and I will get to keep my European plates. I'll most likely keep them on the car until my CA plates come in the mail. (6-8 weeks from when I resister it)
good color choice.. I freaking hate silver/white/black/charcoal bimmers...
P.S. are we having a meet tonight. its a lovely day out I figure it should be warm as well tonight. who's down? I'll see ya'll there.
