detrich: what gear / speed are you passing in? If you're dropping it bakc into 2nd, you shouldn't be having any issue.

 

Jedi - what ever happened to the AFE supercharger?

 

the unit was still not the right size to be efficient. When I talked to Richard last year, he was using the SC on some small block Chevy's and was working on a Supercharger for the Vette.

He vowed to some day SC his 8 but I haven't heard anything new in a loooong time.

 

He's been working on the SC for a piston engine for over two years.

 

It's really lame that he gave up on the 8.

 

doing 65 or 70 in 4th, then dropping into 3rd just makes the engine rev higher with some pull- but not explosive enough for what u'd need to gun pass another car while pushing through the twisties. 2nd gear would be redlining so sorta out of the question. maybe on a longer straight where u have time to build up speed it's ok. but, there definitely doesn't feel like enough power at the fingertips to power pass someone when you're already going like 70....

well since some know already, yes it's the millenia.
i just need to have it tuned. plus get it fixed, my mechanic
did a tune up and screwed something up now it runs a little rough
at idol.

 

doesn't that always happen? i can't believe my shop gave the bmw back to me with a valve cover leak, which is what they were fixing to begin with. LOL

<sigh> what i have to go thru to save a few hundred bucks from avoiding the bmw dealer like the bubonic plague these past 7 years....

 

i tried to get rid of my 8 on about 5 different occaisions.. =(

my fx35 is at the dealership today and they gave me a new g35 sedan as a loaner..man what a difference 100 more lbs of torque makes...amazing!!
