first off I feel the younger you start the better as you don't get a chance to learn the bad habits that most drivers have. not to mention you learn what your car can do in a controled enviroment which I feel allows you a better understanding of what the car can and can not do in emergency situations. also there are some scca clubs back east that put on teen driving schools and they basiclly put you on autox courses and do car control.

here is a little vid from a while back of my co-driver and I in his 97 tiburon

http://barthmullinsracing.com/videos/Round%208.wmv

you can preregister before the event, but you can sign up at the event also. for non members I think the fee went up this year due to a scca national insurance thing so it is $45 I think, and scca members pay $30. as far as the stang and your brother I think the stang is a good car to autox little heavy but good car. matter of fact a stock new body style mustang gt took first place in the drivers index at nationals for 2007.

You can find more info at http://lvrscca.org/ this event is going to be out at the buffalo bills casino in the back parking lot.

Hola West forum,
Has Mazda found a solution for all engine difficulty experienced here on in the West, that was causing the loss of power, besides replacing all the engines?

no problems. the problems on engines were on 04s and 05s....by now any engine that needed to be replaced is probably replaced. My car runs great in the summer and winter. i hope that answers your question.

Mazda's Solution To Engine Failure

Has Mazda ever published/disclosed what the problem was? How they planned to insure that it does not reoccur.

My experience with the dealerships in this town and their factory representative when attempting to discuss this has been less than forthcoming and downright evasive.

Art, what dealership do you go to? I hate all these dealership's that are close to my house because they are a bunch of retard's! I drive all the way across town to People's Mazda because they are always very helpful and never had a problem with them. Here is the address incase you're interested in going there from now on..

People's Mazda

The latest reflash injects more OMP oil under certain conditions so as to help keep the engine in good shape.
