Lack of enthusiasm in Monterey?
Group:
Please tell me there's more enthusiasm among the RX8 owners in the Monterey peninsula than I experienced last weekend. I actually saw a lot more cars than I've seen here in San Diego, including two parked in officials' spots at Laguna Seca. But the ones I saw on the street were filthy dirty, and the owners seemed unaware of what they were driving - including that they were sitting next to another one at a stoplight. Whattup?

Well, it's no different in the Los Angeles area, at least lately. I've waved and gotten the "deer in the headlights" look from other drivers. I too have also seen some VERY dirty 8s. But there's nothing you can do about that, they may not have the passion as some owners have about the car.

Dirty cars indicate a lack of passion? Then my wife (pikachu RX-8, MS body kit, JIC FLT-A2 coilovers, Racing Beat front/rear sway bars and exhaust, Canzoomer chip) and I (BMW 540i, Dinan stage 3 suspension, MAF and throttle body, Quaiffe ATBD, Rogue Engineering lightweight flywheel, engine mounts and short shifter, Stoptech front brakes, twin a/d/s PH30.2 amps, MB Quart speakers, twin Image Dynamics subs, Alpine DVD changer, surround sound processor and 6.5" LCD screen) are some of the most boring people you'll meet. :p
We don't wash our cars daily (or even weekly) but I don't think you'll meet many people who enjoy driving their cars as much as we do. And until last year we even lived in Santa Cruz.
