Are you the best driver at K1 Speed? Come find out by participating in K1 Speed’s Challenge GP. This fun and competitive event is held a different day of the month at the Carlsbad, Irvine and Ontario tracks. You can test your skills on any of these unique and challenging reverse courses, only available on Challenge GP race days. Each event offers 2 full qualifying sessions, and a final race for position. The first three to cross the finish line in all final heats will receive Trophies. In addition you can rack up the points and win great prizes at the end of the sixth month season.

RACES/HEATS (approximately 20 laps or 4-5 miles!) start with QUALIFYING laps, GRID-UP according to best lap time, then THE MAIN RACE, with up to nine drivers racing together, so you can expect to experience the intensity of serious racing. The karts are maintained equally and we have lots of opportunities to pass, allowing the driver with most ability to win. Speeds in excess of 40 MPH can be reached and each driver receives a printout of their racing statistics.

No training or previous experience is necessary. The only requirement for drivers is a minimum height of 5 ft. (60"). All racers will need to sign a liability release form; an accompanying parent or legal guardian will need to sign for those under 18 years of age.

Upon signing into a race, D1 provides a thorough briefing session, use of a racing suit, full-face helmet with headsock, neck brace and gloves. All racers are required to wear closed-toe shoes; no tank tops.
