135? i got it up to 126 and holding through turn 1&2, are you in fourth gear before the straight or getting on the straight?

 

I shift into fourth just just before I exit the complex and into fifth a little before start/finish - but keep in mind that I run the lower 4.77 gears from the '09 model. Also the line through one and two can make a difference - starting high and going low has higher speeds but during a race a slightly lower speed all the way around the bottom can be quicker in a lower powered car like the RX-8. During a race without passengers I'll see more like high 130s and on a rare occasion low 140s if I catch a draft and my motor is feeling happy. The speed exiting 1 and 2 is all out getting on the gas as soon as possible before the complex and building speed early... and finding a good draft if possible! I much prefer buttonwillow in an RX-8. AAA Speedway is a power track and our cars are obviously more about handling and braking.

thanks magnus, i will try that next time, i got some pretty good tips from my friends in the porsche club too, but yea i agree buttonwillow is a better track for the rx8, my fav is still streets of willow actually,

yeah i saw you guys in the showcase too but im kinda shy haha, car was running a little hot but i blame it on the weather

n' yeah, i kinda thought the sticker would be a nice touch considering i don't have any engine mods right now other than a revi intake. lol. I was kinda thinkin' about starting a GB on that sticker tho n' slang them to the 2nd (& 3rd n' 4th) motor club. I was debating about doing it all over for someone on their 3rd motor n' have multiple lines that will read like this above my headlight

Sorry but, I think painting over a CF part should be a crime mate...

 

Atilla's lip kit was never cf, it was just primer black and he had it painted SS.
If however you are referring to my car, then yes Sir, I am guilty of said 'crime'.
