IT'S BACK!! MAZFEST 2011 - Track Event & Car Show
rev: the majority of us are going to be in the show so we're gonna be there around 7:30ish (God willing).
according to the schedule planner, the awards aren't given out until 3 or something - which i'm sure a bunch of us are gonna be staying to watch....
5pm is when the teardown begins tho...

I'm planning on getting there before 8 am. Maybe 7:30 - 7:45 depending on traffic.
staying till about 3:30 or 4 which is when they hand out awards and such. I'm hoping at least 1 RX-8 wins something.
edit: what Atilla said.

The event was pretty funny but not all that exciting. $10 to get in but then the ride along were free which made it totally worth it. We got to do two different rides with 3 laps each ride. There were venders and if you wanted you could track or autocross your car that day as well. NGO won the best RX-8. There were even raffles with some good prizes, but this was nothing like SS but it could deffinitly get better with more participation!
My first driver was in a rx-8 with suspension and exhaust and stripped down a little. He must have gone 100+ down the straight, oh and he had race tires, there were great in the twisties. My second driver was a 2nd Gen rx-7 and the guy was not use to the track so he did not go as fast.

Sephy took some pics but will be doing some editing so it may take a lil' while
i know the mocc guys were out with their cameras - i'll probably troll their forum for pics later

It sounds like I gave you your first ride along. Glad you enjoyed it. Our speed exiting the Roval was about 135mph. Buttonwillow and other twistier tracks are a lot more fun in an RX-8.
