IT'S BACK!! MAZFEST 2011 - Track Event & Car Show
MAZFEST 2011 RETURNS TO AUTOCLUB SPEEDWAY
MazFest, the Mazda Family reunion is back for 2011 with returning track hosts SpeedVentures. Registration for this year’s event will soon be open to Beginner to Advance levels for HPDE Track time, Autocross, and the International Allstars sponsored Mazda Only Car Show. What other event has so much Mazda Love Packed into one place!?

Mazfest was a blast. Have gone the last two years. Won our class in the car show Signing up again and maybe my first AutoX.
Some of the best looking old school Mazda rotary's in the country show up. R100, R3, Trucks, Proteges, MS 6, MS 3, RX7 of all years.
Remember to bring eats and drink with you because there are no vendors. And some shade if possible.

A few things to note guys...
- there WILL be a food vendor open this year with drinks and things to munch on!!
- mazda vendors will be there in full force again, similar layout to last year, slight changes will be seen for better traffic flow
- ride alongs will be just as big this year, so remember to sign up as SOON as you get there so you dont get left out!! (we ran out of time and didnt get to all sign-ups last year!!)
- don't forget to keep a look out for track signup when it opens!

Ride alongs are FREE!!! you only pay admission to the event, one time fee of $10!!

Perhaps in the future, we can see about trying to bring some element of drifting to this event. :D

A few questions before deciding to join the fun at the track: 1) Is it okay to wear a motorcycle helmet. I read that as long as it is SA 2000 or M 2000? and above is acceptable. I don't want to get at the track and be denied because of a motorcycle helmet. 2) Will our stock tow hook be big enough or sufficient for the event? 3) This might be a dumb question, I have 2010 R3, will i need to change anything for the event like brake pads and brake lines to better enjoy the track? This will be my first event so any more advice would be nice. My car is relatively new at this point.

I use my motorcycle helmet, but im considering getting a new SA rated helmet, i believe now speed ventures require SA and M2005 and above? Stock tow hooks are perfect, you need both on front and back.
Only thing you might want to change (tho probably not necessary depending on your miles) are brake fluid, engine oil, and maybe tranny fluid and diff fluid. Make sure your car has enough brake pad life and tires for the day.
If you go on speed-ventures website, they have a track check sheet that's pretty comprehensive, and also a self tech form that will help you inspect your car before you go on track.
