Okay I am spoiled being from SF Bay Area. We have a plethora of amazing roads to drive that are no more than 20 min from wherever you happen to be. I used to ride Skyline down to Alices restaurant everyday after work.

I am new to LA... Are there any good roads to drive here that dont require a long trip to and from?
Small canyon roads etc preferred.
Preferrably not with houses etc around.

 

hey man, its a bit of a drive and starting a palomar mountain meet.


its like an hour or so away from u, but its a blast.

I'm in Sata Monica Area, work in Burbank. Hoping to find something I can go drive maybe up towards Malibu area. I want to find something I can make a nice nightly ritual on way home.

Looking at maps was thinking. Highway 1 up to mulholland highway, then onto Yerba Buena Rd.
Has anyone driven these roads? Are they filled with cops waiting to make the drive no fun? Are the roads in good condition?

this makes me remeber all the nice roads ive driven... should start a thread for best roads to drive...

 

those roads you listed are really good spots, as far as cops theres not too many roaming around at night, i ride out there in my motorcycle often in the spring and summer

 

yerba beuna is a awesome road, i used to go to malibu almost every weekend either on the bike or in the 8, cant go wrong with the roads there. some of the bigger roads are now patrolled more regularly because the malibu residents have been complaining but the smaller ones are still pretty good.

check out the 626 thread, lionzoo sometimes organizes cruises/drives around roads around LA, they are always very fun and we try to stay sensible most of the time
